<p>haha ur lucky love4arch :D. Hopefully im lucky like u  since i have a lower gpa but higher SAT >.<</p>

<p>Did you have a bunch of ECs?
Community service?
How were your essays? </p>

<p>I think these factors helped me out a bunch. </p>

<p>Good luck, Shibykin! :)</p>

<p>ehh well my ECs r kinda weak(only did Track) but I DO have 200+ comunity service hours :). My essay is mainly about my medical condition(itā€™s more of a past condition now though it still affects me nowadays) and family problems(though that seems like such an overused topic).</p>

<p>TYVM Love4Arch and GJ for getting in  hopefully i didnt make it sound like u shouldnt have gotten in >.< who knows wat was in ur app cept u and the college admission ppl :)</p>

<p>oh man i jealous of all the people who got in!! ):
i have REALLY icky stats ToT but then i applied for an um nonpopular major hehe  not that i know if it matters (but my friends say it doesā€¦) & i come from a school where 60% of the people who apply there get inā€¦ so idk idk (: Iā€™m still hopingā€¦ cuz this school is my #1!!
Congrats to all who got in though  lucky lucky!~</p>

<p>have any business administration majors been accepted yet?</p>

<p>Any nursing majors accepted yet?</p>

<p>Congrats Love4Arch. I have 3.91, and similar SAT score, though only 1610. I have decent ECā€™s, but only 130 hours Community Serviceā€¦oh, im not 1st generation either :frowning: I hope to hear from them soonā€¦the wait kills.</p>

<p>Got the email today! Accepted, and neither my stats or ECā€™s are that good, but I am ELC.</p>

<p>Accepted!! WOOHOOO!!!
and in honors program
  :D</p>

<p>Got accepted yesterday at 3:45 A.M. </p>

<p>anyways for all you that are worried about your stats let me give you a rundown of what i had. </p>

<p>4.1 GPA
1870 SAT I
560 SATII U.S.
660 SATII M2
Moderate amount of EC
and get this NO COMMUNITY SERVICE (logged it at career center a lil too late)</p>

<p>Also, i put a good amount of work into my UC essays. Hope this helps everyone to not give up.</p>

<p>Accepted on 2/18 for Biological Sciences. </p>

<p>UC GPA: 3.92 (3.6X unweighted)
SATI: 1950
SATII:660, 680
ECā€™s: A few clubs. Member positions, not an officer of anything. No sports.
Essays: Decent IMO, if not too wordy, but who really knows?
Community Service: less than 100 hours.
Low income Asian-American but not 1st gen.
Awards: Nothing significant
Honors/AP classes: 3 Hā€™s and 5 APā€™s total.
Not in top 10% of class.</p>

<p>As you can see from my awesome statsā€¦there is still hope.</p>

<p>ā€¦ anyone know anyone who got in with uh below below avg stats :'(</p>

<p>iamnicolle, I was out of state (from VA) and got accepted. I got accepted for Biological Sciences.
SAT: 1840
SAT II: Math: 610, Lit 620 (I know, really bad, but I hear the UC schools are getting rid of this requirement anyways so I doubt they look very deeply into these)
UC GPA: Really high, I think 3.9-4.0? It got a huge boost because we have a different grading scale than Cali schools. Like, 90-93% is only a B+. I believe they converted my grades :).
I took 4 IB classes Junior year and am taking 3 (2 HL ) this year
French, Math, and National Honor Society
A lot of my EC hours came from fostering kittens, which is a full-time job so TONS of hours</p>

<p>I think they REALLY want out of state people because I donā€™t have great stats. </p>

<p>This is also my first-choice! I hope to actually get to visit it soon!</p>

<p>i have the same stats and iā€™m in VA too, i hope to get in.</p>

<p>@shayant: You most likely will. I think that UCIā€™s really low percentage of OSS makes them more desperate for the money that accepting OSS brings. And thatā€™s awesome that youā€™re from VA! Is UCI your first-choice?</p>
