I can find that all you guys have high SATs. Does anyone accepted to Bowdoin not send SAT score? My SAT score is not good much >.<

I was accepted to Bowdoin without sending my SAT scores, though I sent my ACT scores which are a tad below average for Bowdoin ( I got a 32).

i was accepted and didn't send my scores in!

thanks you guy:X you guys give me hope :D ^ ^

Do you guy have any advice for the supp essay? The supp essay is quite confusing to me. I think i will choose to write in the way that i will study in Bowdoin to choose the one i like most/ Though i choose my major already, through reading a lot in Bowdoin's website, i changed my idea. :D

icandolt:

The admissions officer I spoke to said that those who send their scores in have a higher admit rate, though this may be due to a lurking variable (those who don't send their scores in are less-qualified applicants in other areas as well). If you feel the rest of your application is Bowdoin quality, don't send in the scores and be confident!

congrats everyone! though i have to say your dazzling credentials are not very comforting hahahaha
i'll wait til april....

Apps are in for RD and I just CANNOT wait!!

Bowdoin is on the top of my list. : )

I applied ED 2 >.< Worry to death :((

Hey all. I got accepted in EDI, but was a lazy bum and didn't post here. XD

I sent in my ACT score, which was a 30, and an SATII in Literature which was a 760 if I recall. My SAT scores were all over the place, which is why I didn't sent them. My Reading was 780, my Math was 670, and my writing was an embarrassing 580. Whatever. I didn't have an opinion on the subject so I had issues writing about it under the time constraint.

My GPA weighted is 4.4, and my unweighted is 3.4. I go to the top ranked highschool in my state. I don't know my ranking because we abolished those after the the difference between the top 20th percentile and the 80th was about .3. :P

I'll have 7 AP's by the time I graduate:
S:US History-5
J:Euro History-4
J:AP Calculus- oh you wish you knew. sorry guys, as one of the few kids in AP calc junior year and getting harassed for it, nobody but the college board and my mother knows this number.
J:AP Literature and Comp- 4
AP US Gov- to be determined
AP Micro economics- to be determined
AP Chinese- to be determined

All my other courses have been honors, except gym.

For anyone waiting on an acceptance, don't freak out at the activities list. I'm a dabbler, and the only ones I've stuck with long-term are my volunteering, fencing, art, music, and writing. But art and writing and music have mostly been for myself.

So with that said I have: Been on the swimming, diving, track&field, soccer, fencing. I have had a play produced, and some poetry published in the school literary journal. I was the image editor for the school newspaper. I've volunteered over 700 hours at a summer camp teaching trail crafts (survival/camping skills) and taking care of a camp full of 300 kids. I draw and paint on my own. I've played piano since I was four, and swap music lessons with a friend (he teaches me guitar). I hang out in Jewish Student Union, and am the official token shiksa. No, seriously. I'm an active member of JSA since junior year. I did academic decathalon my sophomore year. I started Debate this year, and was made varsity, which is pretty hardcore if I do say so myself. Ummm... That's pretty much it. XD.

Awards: National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar, AP scholar, and yeah... I got my play produced through a contest. Oh, and an obscene amount of Academic Decathalon medals.

Recs: I baked stuff for my recommenders after they showed me what they wrote. This is the advantage of totally loving a subject. They know it and they love you for it, and write beautiful, beautiful things about you. I had my World Studies/Econ teacher write one, and my Lit teacher write the other.

I'm a girl from Chicago, IL, and yeah, as you may have guessed Hispanic.

Good luck to everyone waiting on a letter!

Why did you say a 32 was a bit low for Bowdoin? What would you guess the range to be since they do not require them? I thought a 32 was really pretty good.
