accepted to CAL as transfer but cant complete courses

@henry - Have you told them yet?

Yes, I emailed my advisor and made a phone call to talk about my circumstance. He said he will notify me by email tomorrow. I hope my acceptance doesn’t get revoked. I am so damn nervous.

I was recently accepted into UCB, but was unable to complete one of the IGETC courses due to a financial crises regarding my rent. I was accepted as a Political Science major but was unable to complete my Biological Science Class. I am planning on notifying them tomorrow morning but was wondering what the potential result will be from UCB. I have heard of folks taking the IGETC courses during the summer before fall, but didn’t know if anyone has ever heard of another student taking it at Berkeley City College (CC) during the fall.

I don’t mind taking the course during the summer, but the class will be 6 hours each day, Monday through Friday, which will be really hard for me to hold a job for my cost of living.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

i had one class that i dropped, but it wasn’t required for me…and would affect me little…
my admissions officer just revised my conditions of admissions

Hi everybody, thank you for your help and information. I called the other day and my admissions officer told me that the College of Engineering will re-review my application within the next week. I really don’t know what are my chances, but I have other pretty good options so I’m not extremely worried. However, I’ll keep you posted for those who really want to go there and have the same questions as me.

@Brad19. I can see you graduated from Cal already. But apparently you are still lacking reading and comprehension skills. I not only wrote that I dropped the class because it was very hard; I’m also in the tennis team and the professor wasn’t cool about me missing so many classes to go and play the tournaments. So before being so “cool” about yourself bc you are so responsible and so “grown-up”, please read.
Thank you.

@carlito

Just tell your admissions officer that you dropped the major prereq course because it was “extremely hard.” I’m sure he/she will understand.

I’m kidding.

Dropping a class that is not required for IGETC, 60 unit minimum, and major is not a huge problem. They should just revise your conditions. But, since you need that class for your major you may have a problem.

I hope you have a nice admissions officer.

jnielson: I hope you have good financial aid package waiting for you. Financial problems that affect your schoolwork is an ok excuse for 18 year-old freshman who are just out of their parents houses and don’t have the experience. But, if you can’t get your financial problems under control … going to Berkeley is gonna be a problem for you.
