my status just changed yesterday to being carefully considered! Im getting nervous! I applied to Carlson and want to compare my stats, so if you got into carlson please post your stats! thanks!

I got into carlson! I had a 31 ACT and a 3.8 gpa… Weak class rank though just top 20%… But I got in, so I don’t think they look at one single factor too much. Oh and I’m a first gen student from minnesota good luck!

I actually found out that i got into my second choice and waitlisted at carlson. Of those who are waitlisted what are the chances of getting in?

Still waiting. Didn’t apply until Dec deadline. What were your stats, hassle777?

Dreamer, 3.8 UW or W?

I’m OOS but still hoping

hassle what are your stats?

got in with a 29 and 3.93 uw

Getting increasingly nervous. No status change. Less than two weeks to go.

My stats are:

GPA-3.1, higher weighted (yes i know this isn’t in my favor)
Grade trend has gone up, not down.
ACT-30
High School does not do rank
I’ve taken 5 honors courses
I’ve been on varsity hockey for 4 years straight and am captain this year.
Played 2 years of football and basketball, then quit to play club hockey which i put on my app.
I’ve had a paying job for over a year.
I’ve put in many volunteer hours.
Went on a church mission trip my freshman year.
I’m a Wisconsin resident.

I’m hoping I will maybe get accepted off of the waitlist. Anybody know the chances of that?

My daughter got into Carlson honors program back in Oct. SAT 2190 and GPA 3.94. Today she received word that the U of M is giving her 33000 in scholarship money. She goes to high school in NJ. Good luck.

@orthomab: $33,000? WOW. Congrats to you and your daughter.

To OP, idk if it helps much, but my brother got a 28 on the ACT and got into Carlson with a scholarship but that was like 5 years ago… I think you still have a good shot though, good luck.

anyone know how many people waitlisted to carlson get accepted off of the waitlist?

Accepted with my admission with a 28 and a 3.7.

@Hassle777 - I believe they are waiting for the May 1st deadline to pass before they start taking people off the waitlist, but I am not positive.

Bucky is right. They are most likely waiting for may 1st deadline to determine the yield rate. Good luck!

If there is room after the deadline when will they start sending out notifications if youre accepted?

I don’t think anyone knows a specific date, but you could assume it would be soon.

Good q. Maybe call the admissions office.

Good luck!

I called the carlson advisor yesterday, and they said they still have one more round evalutation and will release the decisions next week

Anyway, I got placed to the waitlist of liberal arts college for economics major, and I’m so looking forward to hear back from Carlson!! The wait is killing me urgg

For those of you who were admitted to CLA and wish to transfer to Carlson once you are a student, please keep your eye on the admissions requirements. (for sure micro and macro, but also calc need to be taken. I would look at a suggested sample plan for your desired major (within Carlson) and try to follow it while in CLA so you can stay on track. http://www.csom.umn.edu/undergraduate/academics/majors-minors/index.html

FlyFlydos they have a round of evaluation of people on the waitlist? did they say how many spots they have open?

No, I think they are still reviewing the applications rather than putting people on the waitlist. I only asked for the notification date, but based on the transfer profile 2011, I don’t think there will be many spots, which will decrease my chance :(
