Your GPA is low for honors but you seem like an excellent candidate through your test scores and leadership ecs stuff.

do you know if UMN takes unweighted GPA's and weights them to make them even across all students?

did your application status change online first when you were accepted? or does it not change at all?

it changes from the whole "your application became complete on ___ and is under review" to "Congratulations! You've been admitted to the College of Liberal Arts. Your official letter was mailed on November 17, 2007."

of course, insert the appropriate school and date.

thanks, i have been checking and i didn't know if it was silly to keep checking or not.

nope, it's not silly. my application became complete on sept. 11, and i got my acceptance last thursday. so, your decision should be coming up soon here :)

best of luck :)

mine was complete on september 7th and im still waiting

alright I feel better now. Maybe in- state finds out sooner? I don't know. Jeez this is nerve racking.

Woohoo, i just got in! Now I feel better.

Congratulations!!

Alexispearl-
Would you mind sharing your stats?

Alexispearl, Congrats! Which college did you apply to? Are you going to accept? It is difficult to get into the U these days so well done!! Good luck, best wishes!

believersmom-
if you go back to the other threads under u of minnesota, mine is the 2nd one down and it says "chances??" (im not sure how many question marks)

waknor-
thanks! i got into CLA. I am pretty sure i am going to accept. im visiting UNL on thursday, and ive been accepted to 4 other schools besides the U, its definately my number one, and i LOVEDDDD it when i visited, so that always helps.

i just got denied 3.34 and 23

meh

im going to msu anyways

my mom was a spartan :)

hope you have as good of a time there as she did.

Thanks Alexis-
Sorry I didn't see that before.

Sorry Smash-
Maybe because of the reciprocal thing, you were considered with the in-state students? Best wishes at MSU!

it may have somewhat disadvantaged him to have been from wisconsin since they get UW's in-state tuition, which is currently LOWER than the U of M's. the school loses money through reciprocity when they take a lot of wisconsin students.

Yes, that is what I mean. I know many WI students that were wait-listed or denied in the last couple years with stats very similar to some OOS that have been admitted.
Unfortunately the same happens for WI applying to UW-Madison too, don't know about MN applying to UW. WI students seem to get the short-end of the stick when their parents are the ones paying the taxes for the UW system - but don't get me started (LOL).
Congrats to everyone "in" - it is a great accomplishment.

When you all were notified about being accepted, did you see it online with a status check or did you get a letter first?
