Accepted to CBS... chances for Honors college?

Oh ignore that question, I just re-read the thread and see that it was already answered. Don't mind the old lady here...

:-p. it's cool. as an aside though: they do NOT include offers to the honors program in the acceptance letter. if you are admitted to honors, you will hear about it 2-3 weeks later in a completely separate letter.

.. just so you know :)

oh did you get into honors? im not applying, i def am not honors material. applying to alot of midwest schools from pennsylvania really helps because normally kids who live in the northeast want to go to schools in the northeast. but i LOVE LOVE LOVE the midwest and the people in the midwest.

oh, i haven't heard from honors yet, i just know that's how they do things. and just so you know, you don't have to apply to honors to get in; they automatically consider everyone :-p so who knows! you might get lucky.

it's refreshing to see someone acknowledge the midwests charm and warmth that doesn't exist anywhere else in the country. lately it seems like everyone is flocking to a coast, and even if i go to college in MD, you can expect i'll be back to MN for good.

Hmm, I wonder if I'll get into honors. I was accepted to CBS about 2 1/2 weeks ago w/ about a 3.6 GPA (tons of APs/honors) and a 31 ACT. I haven't received a letter yet. :( Has anyone else heard?

I got into IT about 3 weeks ago. I have a 4.1/4.0 w/uw gpa (not many weighted classes offered) and a 32 ACT. I am from South Dakota. Do you think I have good chances for Honors? When are we supposed to find out? Thanks.

i got my letter into today actually. apparently i havent been denied but I got waitlisted. They said i'm a potentinal candidate for the access to success program as well. It says to submit my 1st term grades. Any other suggestions as to what i should do?

I'm fairly positive that I'm going to go to MSU but since my parents paid $45 for the application fee, I feel I should at least try. I haven't visited the campus because I'm waiting to receive a final decision still.

Did you think you were denied because of the website? I am confused how you could get confused between deferment or denied?
Fill us in...

Yes thats what happened. I read that it usually just says a letter was sent if you get denied, says if you got postphoned, or accepted. Apparently its different or I read it differently.

It sounds to me like they are reviewing your application for their Access to Success program. Your application shows that you have potential to succeed at the U so they probably want to see the direction of your grades this year before making a final decision. Best of luck!!

well i got a 3.67 last term, so upward trend

I was denied from Carlson School of Management w/ a 34 ACT/3.35 GPA but got into the IT. Anyone know if you can only appeal if you don't get into the U at all? (I want to appeal getting into CSOM although I was admitted to the IT.)

Why not accept the IT place for the fall, do a bang up job with your GPA as a freshman and then transfer into Carlson School. A combination of IT studies and management is a great education and quite applealing to most employers.

as a note: it is rumored to be VERY difficult to transfer into Carlson from within the U. be aware of that before you make your choice.

Really? Is that true for other colleges at the U as well - hard to transfer?

the harder the school, the harder it is to transfer. for some, i think all it takes is paperwork.

so apparently another letter was sent out on December 15th :(

all i did was send in my transcript after getting waitlisted and now another letter. yikes, im hoping to get in but who knows

Now my status changed from a 2nd letter being sent out to " We received additional information and have added it to your application file. You will receive an update on the status of your application by April 1, 2008. ."

I also didn't get a letter in the mail, goofy online thing!!!
