Accepted to class of 2013

sushi:

did your agora page change?

I'm pretty sure I didn't get in, since I don't have the FinAid tab. That being said, I'm an EA deferral about 20 min from Boston. I got absolutely nothing in the mail today. I have to say though, our mail was only two items today which is unusual... A lot of the time, we do have issues with mail delay about a day; little mail often signifies that. Either way, I've come to terms with a potential waitlist/rejection.

yeah lauren i am an EA deferral who lives in boston with no fin aid tab, nothing today as well

also it seems some people from MA got it and got rejected today which is weird, how randomly woul they send these out?

This tab thing sucks. Let's hope that it's a delay in the Financial Aid department. Let's cross our fingers

I called - they're sending out in waves over the next few weeks - so maybe they're still deciding. Hmm..

so are you saying they have sent out definite admits and definite rejects while they are still thinking about what to do with borderline kids, I would think all decisions have been made by now

Yeah I really think that they have made their decisions by now... no reason to hold off any longer. Sure, maybe they will send out in waves, but I'm almost positive that decisions are finished... that would actually suck if they weren't because then some would know and others wouldn't even though they are located in the same area? Doesn't make sense...

I friend just got his acceptance letter. He was accepted with $10000 scholarship. His stats are---

gpa- 4.37 Rank- 3 out of 317.
SAT-1640(out of 2400)
SAT2- Math1- 610, US His- 630, Bio-660
Ecs-- Not too many. Essay- Great but not spectacular. I am even surprised that he got in with that SAT and with just a couple of Ecs.

Edit:-- 7 Aps, 4 this year, 3 last year. Last year scored 4 on Bio, 4 on His and 4 on Eng lit.

wow that SAT is miserable, no offense

I'm not racist but was he a minority of some sort

I know. That's why I was surprised too when he told me that he got accepted. I mean for BC, that's really really bad. But his luck favored. His major was Pre-med which is highlly competitive too.

Nope. He isn't a minority. Maybe in state helped.

yeah maybe. Well congrats to him :)

Yeah, that's what I said when he told me that.

it just sucks that we had to find out about our rejections in this tab manner. Oh well, on the the next school.

bosoxnm3-- Did you get rejected? Did you get a letter or found out by their agora website?

no I will probably get it tomorrow. I've hoped and hoped this tab thing was irrelevent but there is really no doubt in my mind anymore.

I live so close to BC and I didn't get anything today!

same eryi, also to the guy with a 1650, in state hurts when it comes time to BC

No offense to the kids who got in 2 years ago, but looking at the pinned topic in this forum (2011), there are so many kids here who are much more qualified and getting rejected and kids in there who got in with much less impressive stats. Kind of depressing...
