Accepted to CSULB & CSULA as Sociology major and also considering Cal Poly Pomona

I am a transfer student got accepted to CSULB & CSULA as Sociology major and applied to Cal Poly Pomona but have not been accepted or denied yet. I am transfering this Fall 2016. What University provides the best sociology program and resources available for dreamer students? (DACA and AB540 student). I would prefer a semester over a quarter system which CPP unfortunately has quarter but the other two CSU’s are or will be semester system by Fall 2016. I live closer to Cal Poly Pomona but is CSULB better. I am also planning to complete MA in Sociology after I complete BA in Sociology. Would CSULB or CSULA be a good choice to go or would Cal Poly Pomona be best for undergraduate? Is the tuition cost of CSULB worth it over Cal Poly Pomona?

This is very much a matter of preference. Long Beach has the highest rank, then Pomona, then LA, but only barely and the differences academically will likely be very minimal.

You are luckily enough to be deciding between neighboring universities so this would be a good opportunity to visit at least two of the three if you have not already. Another step would be to go to the department website of each and look into the degree requirements and course descriptions. Some programs have slight differences in requirements or available coursework that could cause one to stand out over another. Consider housing if you plan to live near or on campus, or transportation costs if you plan to commute. Consider potential double majors or minors. There are many studies that work well with sociology and it is possible that one minor that you feel would appeal to you could be exclusive to one of those schools.
