I don’t have my green card yet (so I can’t get any aid/scholarships whatsoever).

My family is moving to California, and we’ll have the green cards soon. What if I attend Imperial College, London (best engineering school in Europe), and then transfer to Berkeley after a year.

Then I’d at least be a US resident, and presumably a Cali one too.

How hard is it to transfer in once they’ve accepted me and I’ve turned the offer down? What about it being from Europe? does that make a difference?

im kinda trying to decide between the two
but the thing is that i dont get any aid from either. paying full for both. but imperial is a masters course for 4 years, while berkeley is bachelors.

If you want to take your chances than go ahead, but just remember that it just as easily could have gone the other way. I wouldn't want to try for two years in a row. Unless you are seriously at the top of the aplicant pool, I wouldn't count on getting in two years in a row.

Yeah, I'd either plan on finishing your degree at imperial and trying for grad at Berk, or else just go come to berk now. I wouldn't take my chances.

try explaining your situation to the officers at berkeley. if you get 1 year at imperial you can get a lot more credits for your transfer and maybe even graduate early. if berkeley understands that you have financial difficulty then they'll defer your admission or something
