Accepted to Hogwarts '14

Who else is psyched about going to hogwarts next year? i'm getting my PhD in witchcraft and wizardry lol

this place is like Hogwarts. Crazy, but in an awesome way.

[UofC Has Hogwarts Written All Over It | NBC Chicago](<a href=“News – NBC Chicago”>UofC Has Hogwarts Written All Over It – NBC Chicago)

mainly because of our kick ass house system. similar to those of yale and oxford.

^ Eh. Our house system is more like a pale imitation of the systems at Yale and Oxford, from what I know. However, it’s not bad by any means, and I adore my house.

okay, it may be a pale imitation, but i do love my house as well. i think it’s been really great for getting to know people. and our house does bonding activities and trips all the time, so in that respect it’s nice.

I got accepted, and will attend if I get denied from Cornell and UPenn.

Mmm I’ve never read Harry Potter, so the article about Hogwarts doesn’t do much for me. However, a rose by any other name… Whether it’s Hogwarts or not, I’m pretty psyched to be going there, yes. (Though I will have to compare the $$ before I make my final decision… sigh)

Good to hear you’ll be considering the school :-).

Just think about why you like Chicago, and if those are the same reasons you like Cornell and Penn. Personally, I’d argue Chicago is very different than Penn in certain ways (student body, academic emphasis, etc). Penn and Cornell have the Ivy league reputations, and that’s why Chicago is always seconded in this type of situation. Beyond the label, however, I’d openly argue Chicago is a better school academically than both. Just look into your possible major considerations and see how those are reflected at the different schools.

And yes, I admit to being a little biased. Feel free to factor my bias into your interpretations of what I write on CC.
