Accepted to Honors but not Regular College?

Hi, I applied to UF after the Priority Deadline and was rejected despite a high GPA/test scores (4.5 weighted, 2070 SAT, 33 ACT, Top 10% of class). The second I received the rejection, I sent for the appeals papers; while I was writing my appeal letter, I received an e-mail saying I was accepted into the Honors Program. I called the school the following Monday, and was transferred about the phone lines for an hour until I finally got to someone who told me that they were "still figuring out" what to do with "kids like me", and to fill out my appeals letter like everyone else. Naturally, I changed my appeals letter to say that I was accepted into their Honors Program, and sent it in last week. I called again this week, multiple times, only to be met by an automated message in the Undergraduate Admissions Office. The woman in the Honors Program who answered my call told me to e-mail her, as it would be "easier" for her to help me that way. Suffice to say, I have not heard back from her in two days. I'm not sure what to do to be honest.

Keep Calling until you get an answer. It’s best if you can actually speak to someone.

+1 for calling.

I think it does very poorly reflect the university when counselors and administrative staff drop the ball like this. i swear, 50% of the time i try to talk to an advisor or administrator, they end up not responding because they ‘let work early’ that day or just plain didn’t show up. their jobs must be wonderful if they can take so much time off.

If you live in Florida and seriously want to go to UF, physically GO to the office of admissions in person. Don’t depend on e-mail and phone calls.
