<p>^yeah i've noticed that also. I know a few people who got into harvard that weren't in top 10 people, but they were either legacy or underrepresented minorities.</p>

<p>I was 10th out of about 190 (so outside of 5% but in 10%).</p>
<p>Thing is was it was unwaited, and our valedictorian took no honors courses, screwy, no?</p>
<p>In at Stanford (attending), not at Harvard. Doesn't really matter cus Harvard Engineering isn't even in the top 20 I don't think.</p>
<p>I read somewhere on here that, Yale wants stats, Harvard wants diversity, and Stanford wants Passion. I actually think this is on the right track. I think if you're truly awesome your bound to get in somewhere, one stat won't screw you over at all prestigious schools.</p>
