Accepted to Marshall School of Business with low SAT

I can't believe I got in...I applied on the deadline because it was the common app to see if I would get in and I actually got in with my low 1800 SAT...I guess my essay about my church youth group wasn't bad. Now I'm deciding between the University of Washington and USC. Opinions?

I was so surprised too! I had pretty low scores too and I also got in Marshall! :D

Washington vs Sunny California…? :P

Go with Foster if you want to stay in Seattle/Portland. Marshall is a much better business school and your opportunity and ability to go anywhere on the west coast as well as the rest of the country is greater than if you went to UW. That being said Foster is a good school too (A good friend of mine is studying there right now so we’ve been comparing).

AERJGERIGOWrjgpfjslkdgjfklajfiewojioew! You guys are lucky! I got rejected by USC for an Undecided Major and I made an 1810 on my SAT and a 29 on my ACT! WHAT THE FLADOODLE IS GOING ON???

@PantherD4NG - This was a particular hard year to get in from the sounds of it as applications were up, admissions rate went down, and average gpa/sat/act all went up.

The middle-50% SAT range is 2060-2250, and the middle-50% ACT range is 30-34.

Yeah I’m definitely leaning towards USC because of it’s prestigious reputation and the fact that it’s in CALIFORNIA (sick of the rain here in Seattle), but then again UW is A LOT cheaper than USC. How the heck do people afford to pay 50k+ a year…I’m still waiting on the financial aid package though…I guess it’ll come down to that.

xPeppy - USC has a pretty huge endowment and they generally meet 100% of need so the majority of people come here on grants/scholarships.

Go for USC!

Fight on! :D

Really? Wow, in that case I’m all for USC. Do you know if the major I chose is binding? I was accepted to the marshall school of business but is there any way I could switch/apply to the engineering school?

Yes it is generally easy to switch to a different major as long as it isn’t one of the really competitive programs(business/accounting/cinema) so switching to engineering from business shouldn’t be too hard. If you can fit it into your schedule you may want to keep business on as a minor since many people who go into engineering want to do finance or start up a business later on. USC is really big on supporting students in starting up their own businesses or helping you find a startup to join.

go to washington so i can go to usc haaaaaaaha,
gonna appeal. i am so sad. i built a company in my essay. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY are they doing this to me
