Accepted to Otterbein MT for class of 2022

Excited and proud to report that my D was just accepted to Otterbein MT this afternoon! Anyone else get the good news yet?

We heard from Otterbein last week, and our daughter is in as well. I don’t know terrible amounts about the program, but I am learn as much as I can. We have a friend who graduated from there in 2016 and thrived in their program.

My daughter is on the waitlist, anyone know how many they waitlist?

my daughter also waitlisted at otterbein

I called them to ask about numbers and they wouldn’t tell me anything except that their waitlist is not ranked… .I’m very curious though… is it 10 or is it 50?

I wish we knew

I can’t confirm the veracity of the lore I heard four years ago, but I was told by some Otterbein parents there was one person on the waitlist for each person accepted. There was a change in leadership when Dr. John retired two years ago, and changes have occurred I’m sure. Son auditioned for MT and was redirected to Acting BFA. He had MT acceptances elsewhere, but chose Otterbein and never regretted his decision. He has been cast in four musicals, so cross casting does happen. If your child is looking for a program with a supportive atmosphere, Otterbein is it. I cannot say enough positive things about the faculty, and the school as a whole. Son went to school 900 miles away, and I was comforted to know he would not be lost in the crowd.

Our daughter has been accepted to MT program and has been visiting campus the past two days. Feedback has been good - said program faculty and current students very engaging and helpful. She attended two rehearsals and participated in a dance class. Very excited!

@4daughtersdad, sounds like you may be an Otterdad soon!

Hey I have been accepted into the MT program and I don’t know much about it. Just wanted to see who else has gotten in so I could hear their opinion about the school I have one more school to hear from and if I don’t get in there then I will accept the offer at Otterbein.

Yep - committed! Looks like the kids have already connected on social media. Daughter’s initials are SLR. With the small class size in the program I’m sure we will probably meet at some point. Look forward to it.
