My daughter from California wants to go to A&M. She was accepted into Visualization program but PSA so she has to take her first year at another A&M location then gets an automatic transfer in as long as 3.0. Not knowing anything about all the other campuses, any recommendation as to which is another good campus & somewhat close to an airport?
Accepted to Texas A & M PSA program for Visualization. Have to do a year at another location, which?
Look at the incoming transfer requirements for Visualization major. Then look across the PSA schools offered to find the school offering the required courses for transfer. If there is no major at any PSA school offered that has a full overlap, I would immediately call the Visualization department advisor at A&M and ask for a recommendation! They must see transfers, and they should be able to help you. Keep a good record of the name of the person you speak with and notes about the conversation, as has been suggested here. Your student could supply that information later on the transfer application. If you have an alternate school besides PSA, find out whether it offers the transfer courses needed. @M0mmaL0ve is having the exact same dilemma in another thread. Compare notes!!
@LTEMOM Here is the transfer course sheet for Viz. http://admissions.tamu.edu/admissions-staging/media/Main/pdfs-transfer2017/ARCH17-Viz.pdf
As @MomHopesNxtGenAg gave solid advice.
You/your D will have to look up the schools to determine which one is best for her and then use those towns to look up airports. A quick search on Google Maps shows Prairie View to be closest to Houston, so either airport there would work. A&M Commerce would be Dallas Love Field or DFW. College Station also has an airport that American flies to. https://www.flyeasterwood.com/
There are several shuttle services available you can google.
The big advantage of PSA is that it does indeed provide a GUARANTEE of admission for any students who successfully satisfy the requirements. It GUARANTEES admission into a specific major as well.
