I got accepted to UCSC as a biology major 2.85 GPA, wrote hell of a personal statement though! I am so grateful to get accepted to UCSC but I got rejected from UCM.... i thought UCM accepts pretty much everybody??? Any inputs ???

Generally speaking, the more “selective” campuses take a more holistic approach.

I got rejected from UCSC as a Bio major with a 3.7 GPA but I got into UCM…I guess it just depends…

i guess ucm doesnt read essays and ucsc reads.
well good luck at sc man.

btw enereserene u going to ucm?

Every school has their own way of determining whether or not a student is accepted. All it means is that you did not quite fit into what UC Merced is looking for in a student. Not because you are not qualified tough thus you were accepted to UCSC. Don’t worry I have heard of students being accepted to Berkeley and being denied by UCM it really means nothing. As far as the admission rate for UCM yes the majority of the applicants will get accepted but that number has been declining and will continue to do so because UCM is a growing campus.

@MercedMonster yes i am im like super excited lol

as a graduate student here I envied the undergrad has so many oppotunities to do research…

They probably thought that you’re stats were to good for UCM therefor they rejected you just to up their acceptance rates…

Can I ask what was your Sat?

Interesting theory, completely wrong however

I thought a 3.0 was required for UC’s?
