Accepted to UIUC, help with decision!

My S has now been accepted to UIUC Engineering. He is also considering some similar sized schools and some smaller ones. He now has to decide where to go and would like some info to help with the decision. We are already planning a trip to the campus in February for Presidents Week (we are OOS, NJ). Please comment on these questions and any others that you feel may would be helpful to my S or anyone considering UIUC.

How wired/wireless is the campus? Can one use there wireless laptop almost anywhere? In the Quads, library, student center, etc.?

How are classes for undergraduates taught? Mostly by Professors? Mostly by TA's? Is there a lot of interaction and office hours with Professors? Are Professors very open to undergraduates? Are classes very open to questions and discussions?

How difficult is it to get involved with top professors for reseach projects? Including summer internships?

Any reccomendations for Dorms:
How strict is the campus/dorms? Curfew hours and their enforcement? Any dorms more strict than others? University housing vs. Privately owned certified?

Are Freshman allowed to have a car on campus? If so, do many bring one? Is there parking available around campus?

We probably have another 100 questions, but this should be a good start. Thanks for any replys.

here's a web site I look at quite a bit that tells you stuff about the technology services UIUC has

We have wireless in pretty much all major hotspots- dorms, library, coffee shops etc ( but not in the dorm room)

Most enginnering freshmen classes are huge which basically mean no interaction with professors. TAs are the most helpful

There are no curfew hours for dorms or any private housing for that matter

Yes but parking spots are taken pretty quickly so u need to apply for one early.
