for everyone who was accepted can u tell me what ur sats/gpa/ec/community involvement were so i know what i should expect?

um, well, my sat was 1370, my gpa was a 4.1, and middle-class, and lots of drama& literary magazine stuff was all i did with a little honor society and community service, how about you?

Although your stats are obviously significant, Wellesley really seems interested in individuals rather than numbers. Make sure you write a great essay...it will be very important.

Oh - I am already in! LOL

Oh, I know- that was directed to the original poster :).

Hi, here's the thing. I really want to go to Wellesley, but I don't think "quantitatively" I'm good enough. My SAT's nor my AP grades are stellar, and I'm not the best test taker - this is not meant to be an excuse, but I do think it's one of the factors why my test grades are somewhat low. However I do do well in the classroom and get good grades. I've lived abroad for about 8 years and traveled extensively, enabling me to soak in other cultures and the different people. My question is, even though I don't have the best "quantitative" aspects, do I have a chance of getting in? What other areas in the application process can I emphasize or make stellar to maximize my entrance to Wellesley?

gcheng, to answer your question, yes! You still have a chance at Wellesley even if your test scores aren't "quantitatively" good enough. Because Wellesley doesn't accept perfect grades and perfect scores. Wellesley wants well-rounded individuals who have a talent, a passion, a drive to contribute to its community. And I know this because I didn't have the best test scores (only 29 ACT, 1260 SAT) but I got in because I had a talent to offer (piano) and a passion for art (why I'm majoring in art history).

What talents do you have? I find your experiences abroad interesting and you should definitely convey that in your application. What do you love to do? What do you want to study? Wellesley is one school that looks at your WHOLE application and examines you as a person.
