Accepted To Yale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kudos to all who got accepted, and hopefully I'll be seeing you in 2008! If not, well-- congrats anyway =)

Congrats to Skrugger, Halcykon, and edm!!! :DDD So lucky!

Mr.Tubbz-- you guess? lol, that is still very good! There is still much hope. Congrats!

Collegehopeful--That's okay ^_^ Sounds like you still have great schools who'd love to have you. I'm sure you're still an awesome student, and will be successful no matter where you go! :)

I am pretty sad. yale was my 3rd choice after all. oh wells. I know I won't get in RD. Every top student from our school wants to go there. I am still hoping for P or S though(1st and 2nd choices respectively).

oh, well, then it's not such a big deal! Good luck to you!

2012 :D I'll see you three and those submitted to Yale during RD over in CT.

Just curious, how many applicants are accepted via this Questbridge program or whatever it is?

I didnt get in- YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY- i don't like yale anyway- rich snobby preps

I haven't noticed too many openly preppy kids around here, and I'm definitely not rich. Yay for awesome finaid!

I like Yale but I feel science and econ is weaker here than PS. Can someone convince me otherwise? Everything else about Y beats PS though.

idk for sure, but i definitely got the vibe that science at yale was really strong. first off, their huge endowment definitely helps and theyve been investing a lot of money into science hill. in fact theyre planning on renovated/rebuilding the chemistry building. if you're pre-med, you may want to consider yale as well. the acceptance rate to med school is something crazy like 92-96% (check website for exact figures) whereas the national rate is only 50%.

i have no idea about econ though

Collegehopeful,
I've had friends who got in RD.
Yale, btw, is really throwing a lot of money and resources at the sciences and has a lot of opportunities for undergrads. Perspectives on Science is a competitive freshman class that has guest speakers in every week and culminates in a research paper and a guaranteed position in a Yale professor's lab over the summer and beyond. There's even a special bio class that prepares for a class trip to a rainforest in South America to collect specimens and design and carry out your own experiment.

Other guy who said we were "preppy",
I'd encourage you to come for a visit and see that are really a bunch of down-to-earth college kids who enjoy school, the arts, sports and just about anything you can think of.

Congratulations to those who got in! I hope to see you at Bulldog Days and Camp Yale next fall!

That's so exciting. Congrats guys. I love everyone at QuestScholars! It's an amazing organization. I almost did QuestLeadership a few years ago.

How do you know that you didn't get in? I tought the decisions are coming out next week....

What on earth is Questbridge, and do they get admissions decisions earlier than other applicants?

Questbridge is a scholarship program for low income students. I'm not sure why they find out early.

It's apart of their program like an early-early action.

This may be a dumb question, but why do they need to/get to know so early? I understand the program but why is it so early?

It's just how the program is done. Besides, it's wonderful to know early. You feel really relieved afterwards.

Does the Questbridge program pay the tuition or the individual schools who accept the scholars?

It's the school.
