^@cashmoney…my d here in socal just received a letter from usc. it’s not a package but it seems thicker than a rejection letter. I will not open it, but just curious, what was your letter/package like?

big white heavy package

flipped out…If it is thin, then it is the rejection letter along with a tan FAQ sheet they included in the envelope.

@cashmoney @tornados Thanks for the post. I know she’ll be very disappointed. She’s been admitted to other schools, but would have liked to hear a yes from SC.

my s got rejected today, very disappointed. Admitted to other schools, but would have liked this as an option. Wanted to say good luck to you all…have enjoyed following you all. I am sure you will be successful where ever you end up!

From Facebook postings…

A male student from Conn. was admitted for spring. A female student was admitted for spring from Mass.

I had the same reaction! I saw that big white envelope on my doorstep and was so excited! I opened it up and saw Spring 2011. I was really hoping for Fall 2010 admission, but I definitely won’t overlook USC’s offer just because it’s a semester later.

Sorry to those who were not admitted. All of you have amazing stats and deserve to get accepted!

For those of you who are still waiting for letters, I’m from Norcal and my status is still at forwarded (since 3/25). My package was postmarked 3/26. Good luck! :)

Plush,
Due to finances or other reasons all students who were accepted may not enroll. Those spots then are open for the spring admits. It does happen.

If not, there is an opportunity to earn money, take required classes, do community service or start a business while you wait.

Congratulations on your admission.

Does anyone know if you have to accept the enrollment in order to know if you are bumped up, or if they just tell you automatically even if you didn’t accept?

I also was admitted to the spring admission. It makes my decision really hard. I don’t know whether to accept it or just move on to my other choices. USC is my top school, but I don’t want to go in the spring. I want to go to school in the fall with my other classmates

@GeorgiaGirl - do you know how many spring admit offers there typically are?

ninja, i’m in the same boat. some say to go for it, others say it’s not worth it. i feel like starting a thread for pros and cons of spring admission…

a spring admission from USC > regular admission from most other colleges

for me anyway
considering the ones I applied to…

jrtingson that thread would be a really great. It could help ppl decide

A thread would be really helpful. I’m trying to weigh the pros and cons, but am still at a standstill as to which college I should choose because I would prefer to start college with everyone else.

USC is the best option for me, but I just can’t get past starting months after everyone else!

plushminkie…I’d wait another year if I got accepted into my dream school…

Go for it, after the first six months you won’t even remember your start date.

In answer to the question about how many spring admits - this year there were 300, according to what we were told at orientation.

Congrats on your admittance! My D was a spring admit last year and was moved to Fall. Follow the advice of Ellebud, Alamemom, Fauxnom, Georgia girl, and others who have been giving advice for the past few years. They know of what they speak Research your options as a spring admit (again, follow the advice of those who have been there before) and then make your decisions. Again, congrats on your admittance to USC!!
Fight On!

kaorj…really good advice.

kaorj@ how was she moved to fall??? im really going to push to be bumped to fall
