This is what the email says:

my name and address

Dear name:
Congratulations! It gives me great pleasure to invite you to join the Emory University community as a member of the Emory College Class of 2009.

The Admission Committee reviewed thousands of applications during the selection process for next years first-year class, and among that group of strong students, you are a standout. Your academic record is an impressive match for Emorys challenging learning environment. The College will benefit from your outlook and insight as much as you will benefit from Emorys tradition of academic excellence and its dynamic and diverse community. I hope you will join us here.
In order to reserve your place in the Class of 2009, you must send a non-refundable deposit of $450 no later than May 1, 2005. (This deposit includes an orientation fee, a housing reservation fee, and a credit towards the first semester tuition.)

Go to http://www.emory.edu/ADMISSIONS/intlresponse/regular.html and print out a copy of the Admission Response Card and Acceptance Agreement. Please complete the Admission Response Card and return it to the Admission Office. Carefully read the Acceptance Agreement that outlines the terms of your admission. Your admission is conditional pending receipt of your final secondary school transcript and documentation of graduation. Be advised that the Admission Committee requires the same level of academic achievement and personal conduct through the completion of your senior year. Failure to maintain this level of performance and schedule of courses could result in a withdrawal of our admission offer.

Later this spring you will receive information about orientation and academic advising from the Dean of Emory College. New student housing information will be sent in April. If we can assist you as you finalize your plans for the fall, please feel free to contact us!

Good luck with the rest of your senior year. I am happy to offer you a place among us, and I look forward to welcoming you to Emory next fall.

Sincerely,
Daniel C. Walls
Dean of Admission

Has anyone heard about this??

Why would that not be legit? and YAY! Will you be joining us as part of the class of 09?!

it seems real.. i mean.. WHY NOT??
oh, and i also received a regular mail a few days ago from department of music saying they received my talent form and want me to clarify if i wanna major/minor in music or just join an ensemble.

Emory definitely is one of the top choices and i actually was considering applying ED2 in december.. (which i didn't eventually)

woah, that is really strange. I didn't know they even posted decisions online? They are supose to mail everybody their decision on April 1. I would def. call the school just to make sure; it could be a cruel joke.

its probably similar to those likely admit letters but in this case more definite. only thing im wondering is while ur stats are very impressive, and plz dont take this the wrong way, in no way are u a superstar student to guarentee admissions earlier. I mean it seems legit and u are very strong academically and socially it appears but its not like u have a 1500+ sat 4.0 uw and like ecs internationally renowned

i'm definitely calling tomorrow. I mean, i KNOW my stats aren't that outstanding. That's why i first thought there would be other people who got the acceptance letter yesterday. This is strange.....

hmm..well my friend just told me that someone she knows also got into Emory (RD),don't know if he was sent an e-mail confirmation or a letter though. He's actually an International..but I think he's a green card holder. So that sort of takes him out of the International Pile.

someone asked me if i got "online deposit" thing on the screen.
Yes i do have the link in OPUS and i also got an email about the online deposit right after i received the acceptance email. It said:

Dear Admitted Student:

You are now able to pay your Admission Deposit on line via on line check! Just log on to www.opus.emory.edu. Click on Learner Services>Admissions>Pay your Admission Deposit On Line and follow the instructions to pay the $450.00 non refundable deposit to hold your place in the freshman class.
Sincerely,
Office of Admission

ok. i called Emory today to confirm my acceptance and they said I DID get admitted!!!!!!!!!! They said they sent me the email to let me know ahead of time since internationals' acceptance letter usually arrive late.
