Accepted today?

Please post if you got an email and accepted today.

we will definitely post...anxiety high here today (again!) Luckily D has a senior fundraiser tonight and will be working to set up all afternoon so it will keep her mind off of it...I on the other hand will be sitting here staring at my computer!! Good luck to everyone!

just another anxious friday

so do emails start coming over at 5PM?

I just checked the last two weeks and looks like people starting posting they got their emails around 5:10ish so I am guessing they go out at 5. Maybe earlier today as the office wants to get home and get ready for the big game tonight??? Good luck everyone, we will know soon since April 1 is 4 days away!

“Just another anxious Friday.”

Indeed.

I just got waitlisted! Omg ugh I can’t take this

i got waitlisted too haha

Waitlist, too for sport mgmt., I am in shock right now. I even put down a 2nd and 3rd choice.

Redandgold, D also got waitlisted. As I told you in the PM they are trying to expand the program. She already accepted her backup school so now we wait (and call…)

Why was not I offered spot in 2nd and 3rd choice…so confused!

We are confused on that also. D also said she was equally divided between 1 choice (sport management) and 2nd (hospitality management). As I said, I heard they are trying to expand sport management so maybe they are waiting on the University’s decision but we feel pretty lousy now.

Does hospitality fall under Human Ecology, too? I put down two separate schools…2nd choice mgmt. and 3rd choice arts and science.

I got an email from Syracuse a couple weeks ago maybe three I’m not sure. I am attending the College of Visual and Performing Arts though don’t really know if that makes a difference.

I got my waitlist email at 5:10 pm. They offered me waitlist for the communications/rhetorical studies, which was listed as my second choice. My first choice was Newhouse dual program, but they wrote that with my personality that they felt the communications college was a better fit. I agree with them. I looked at last year’s posts and it sounds like just about everyone that heard the last round was waitlist. I will take that over a rejection any day, especially if it’s a school I like. I’m close to a full pay student, so considering the economy and costs, I wouldn’t be surprised if some people will decide that they just can’t commit. Hopefully all of us posting here will log back on within a month and congratulate each other. Please know I am there with all of you feeling disappointed and sad.

waitlisted. =[
it’s ok.
still staying positive.
just think… we could have been rejected.

Hospitality is in Human Ecology also, it was her second choice as a major, and that is what admissions rep told us to do. Keep your chins up everyone! I agree a waitlist is better than a rejection!! I plan on calling and talking to them, that is what I’ve been told on the parent forum to do. Also, I know from an inside source that they are trying to expand the program, so hopefully they will get the OK and many will come off the waitlist!

What do you mean calling them? Like, who do you talk to/ask? The status of your waitlist and position?
And I know I have asked this on like 3 threads now, but how is anyone expecting to go to Syracuse off of the waitlist if other schools must be notified by May 1st and Syracuse is telling us on May 15th?

Also, if we do not know our financial aid and scholarships because we are waitlisted, won’t we all have literally no chance–or a greatly reduced one–of receiving scholarships and aid since we are near the end?

Jigfeet,

You have to choose your second choice school and make your deposit. I am sure they will explain that in the letter that is being sent to you. The deposit is nonrefundable but if you really want Syracuse and you get notified in May, you can withdraw from that other school. That is the way it goes with wait listing. Since you were wait listed you did not qualify for merit aid. However, you can still receive a good need based offer if you are eligible. Being wait listed should not affect that - or at least I know of schools where it did not. I can’t speak for Syracuse on that.

it seems everyone has been notified but me… is there another batch going out? would i have to wait until next friday?
