Accepted Transfer -- Biz but not in CSOM?

Hello,

I am currently a sophomore at a top 20 LAC and have been accepted to BC. I am interested in having a business career after college, and am currently interning at a bulge bracket firm in NYC. I am very eager to attend BC (as it offers both a better location and social outlet), however am afraid that I will have difficulty with on campus recruiting due to not being in the business school.

I have had two prior internships, and have been networking with S&T and Asset Management firms for the upcoming few summers. If I major in economics (which I am set to now at my LAC), and take a few finance classes, will I be prejudiced/looked down upon through on campus info sessions/recruiting or alumni?

Your time is greatly appreciated!

It’s not too big of a deal. My roommate is an Econ major that wants to do business and isn’t in CSOM and he’s doing fine thus far. You could possibly encounter some favoritism toward CSOM kids from CSOM grads, but most of the Alumni that I’ve met really focus more on BC as a whole, not just CSOM.

I was actually offered a business internship this summer by a CSOM grad and I’m in A&S though I didn’t end up taking it. As long as you work hard and know your stuff I really doubt most Alumni will care.

Top tier financial firms actually gravitate more towards non-biz majors according to my experiences with recruiters/alumni.
