<p>This thread will be about those who have been accepted to Rutgers for Fall of 2011 as a Transfer student. Questions such as financial aid, housing, courses, credits, etc, will be discussed.</p>
<p>So those who got in, have you recieved your financial aid packages yet?</p>
<p>Hi! I haven’t received my financial aid package yet, as I still have to apply for it. What I do know though, is that most people who applied already will find out about their financial aid around June. Here’s what I’ve done/will do on my Enrollment Pathway:</p>
<p>Placement Testing: I don’t know when I should do this because I’ve taken 2 writing courses at my current university. It states on the site: “If you have already received credit for Expository Writing, then you are exempt from taking the English test.” So…I don’t know if I should take it anyway, wait for my Transfer Credit Evaluation, or check the box that says I do NOT need to take the English Placement test (and not wait for the Transfer Credit Evaluation).</p>
<p>Academic Planning/Advising: Prior to meeting with an advisor and picking courses, I need to know the results of my placement test as well as my transfer credit evaluation. I need to get the Placement Testing out of the way first but as you can see, I’m kind of confused with what to do…lol.</p>
<p>Orientation: “Information about orientation programs will be available in the future. Please check back periodically.” I don’t know if this is just on my screen or if it applies to all recently admitted students. We should hear about STAR Days soon though.</p>
<p>Housing: I applied (living-learning community preference, campus preference, my lifestyle preference, etc.) and submitted my $200 deposit. I’m hoping I can get the dorm I’ve been eyeing for a while :)</p>
<p>As of now, I think I have to wait for my Transfer Credit Evaluation to see if I get exempt from the English portion of the Placement Test. I think my credits will be fully evaluated as soon as my school sends my Spring 2011 Final College Transcript to RU.</p>
