I was admitted into UCI as a Mechanical Engineer. My school district (SDCCD) has recently announced that they have cancelled the entire summer program. I have completed Mechanics, Im currently taking Wave/Optics/Modern Physics, and I had Electricity and Magnetism as a planned summer course. Now that they have cancelled the summer classes, something I had pretty much no control over, I was worried about whether my admission would be impacted.

On UCIs TAG brochure (http://www.admissions.uci.edu/pdf/TAG_brochure_fall2011.pdf), the requirement regarding physics just says Complete one year of calculus-based physics with corresponding labs. However, on the admissions site (Transfer Admission, Selection and Preparation) it says something a little different; the requirement regarding physics says Complete one year of calculus-based physics with labs (mechanics, electricity, and magnetism). By the end of Spring 2011, I will have one year of Physics completed, just I will have completed Mechanics and Modern Physics (not Mechanics and E&M as is listed on the admissions page). Otherwise, I will have met all the requirements and additional requirements.

Will my admission be impacted? I tried calling UCI admissions but the lady who answered wasnt very helpful. I will call the Engineering counseling when their office opens tomorrow morning.

Also, I remember back when fillign out applications, it said something like Classes taken during Summer 2011 before transferring will not be considered for admission. So wouldnt that mean that since Ive been accepted, UCI has accepted my application whether I was planning on taking (or dropping) a summer class or not?

Any advice would be helpful, ****s making me nervous all the sudden.
