accepted with what major

I got accepted to UF but I don't remember the application. does it ask which major you want and if so, how do we know if we were accepted into that major?

You don’t declare a major until you have your associates degree (60 credits), so it doesn’t matter. You will take care of tracks and things of the sort at orientation.

ok, thanks

Vincanity, this is not true. You don’t have to have an associated degree to declare anything. This is only if you are a transfer student. You can begin your major as soon as you’ve completed your tracking courses (specific course required for entry into your major).

You can pick you major at Preview and you can change majors all you want. Once you reach 90 credits you cant change or add a major.

**Also you applied to UF and not to a specific major/department. Architecture, fine arts, and I think communications disorders have special requirements to continue with or enter that major.

Actually greekyoghurt, you can start school by only taking courses toward your major and leave all of your general education courses for the latter two years. My point was that, as ASMAJ said, at one point you are locked into a particular major. However, I was under the impression that the lock occurred once you reached 60 credits.

Actually vincanity, you cannot begin taking courses towards your major until you have completed the tracking courses required to begin your major. Ex: My major is Poli Sci, therefore, before I begin taking Poli Sci major courses, I must take: Statistics, World Politics, American Government, and Comparative Politics. These do not “count” towards my major; they are prerequisites for the major.
