From what I have been told is that several years back, Stonehill got into trouble with diversity stats. So, if you fit into that equation, you are in. Basically, white males need not apply unless they have perfect stats. Pretty sad if that is the truth. But you ask anyone about Stonehill and that is what they say.

For those who were admitted Regular Decision who are still waiting on financial aid letters, it might be helpful to know that at last week’s Skyhawk Welcome Day we were told that letters will be sent during the week of March 21st to March 25th. Good luck for those still waiting for letters!

I was accepted into the Stonehill Honors Program today!!! I thought it was a financial aid package until I saw a letter that said Congratulations at the top.

tutugirl11, had you already been accepted? My daughter was accepted EA at Stonehill, but we didn’t hear anyting about the honors program, which surprised me. I was wondering if an invitation to the honors program might come later.

Anne62

I was accepted in December through the select application before EA decisions came out.
The main criteria (as it seemed to me) was that the student is in the top 5% of their graduating class, but I assume there must be other ways for a student to be selected into the program (at least I hope so).

D just got acceptance into Honors program on 3/9. She was originally accepted EA with a $12K. annual merit award. She received $20K and $25K from competitive schools!
A little puzzling?

Not puzzling because different schools have different endowments.

Deferred EA, Waitlisted RD

3.65 GPA
1950 SAT
29 ACT
Top 20% of class
Strong EC’s(including several with my parish), essay, recommendations.
Major: Biology

Comments: Kind of disappointed. My father is an alum and my sister is a soon to be alum. This, however, was not my first choice. I had already committed to Northeastern by the time I got my Waitlist notice(Opted out of it). Good luck to everyone else!

^ wow, surprised you got deferred. you seem to fit their profile.

Thought i would chime in regarding Faid and acceptence. My son got in early action, he is not a minority, just a middleclass new england boy, no alumi ties. He is in top 15% of his class, GPA 4.2, decent sats but not over the top. No news of scholarships or faid yet
