“Surprisingly enough I got rejected, not even deffered. Well, I guess I’ll be going to NYU.” That’s you in another thread about 15 minutes earlier. Just saying.

I’m pretty sure this is sarcastic. He’s basically saying all of the kids who got in are legacies with rich parents.

My legacy friend actually got denied, not even deferred.

I’m a legacy and got rejected from CAS. To be honest, I was too confident that I’d get accepted because of my legacy status combined with my sat scores, etc. Both my grandfather and great-grandfather went to Penn, but neither one of them ever donated a cent and couldn’t really afford to. So last night I was obviously frustrated when I heard about wealthy legacies getting accepted with much lower stats than mine. But, as much as I love Penn, I just have to put it behind me. I think I would have been successful there, but they don’t have the space to accept every applicant who they think will succeed - and that’s not my fault. I know I’ll get in some other good schools, so I’m not going to sit around and regret all the hard work I put into getting in Penn. And NYU IS a good school.
