I most likely will not be attending (as you can see from my username), but I will post my stats to give others an indicator of how hard it is to get in (apparently not that hard lol). I also got a modest scholarship.

EC: I’d say a little above average because I have some leadership positions
Essay: An encounter of mine w/ cultural insensitivity (I felt that it was pretty damn good except I kind of messed up the very first sentence lol)
Supplement: Probably didn’t make a difference, as they only wanted one between 3-5 sentences, but I talked about a loss of mine that affected me

Intended Major: Psychology

Recommendations: I have no idea what my teachers said about me. I got one from a science teacher (felt that she wrote a solid/good one) and one from a Foreign Language teacher (felt that she probably wrote a mediocre one). And I think I might have gotten a good one from my counselor, but she doesn’t know me all too well aside from the questionnaire I had to fill out so that she would write one for me.

Pretty much it! Congrats to everyone that also got accepted and good luck to everyone that is still waiting or will apply in the future!

congrats, i got my acceptance packet today, too! i too probably won’t attend but i’ll post my stats here as well to help others. i got a $8,500 per year scholarship, which was a very pleasant surprise!

D waitlisted - should she waitlist or settle on a decision elsewhere? I’m not sure how to advise. We haven’t visited Gonzaga, so don’t know what she’s missing.

Our twins accepted to Gonzaga and we are very proud! Plan a trip to visit as we are from San Francisco. Scholarship of $12K per year per child for 4 years. Will consider although tuition will kill us as older child attending Dartmouth on similar scholarship. . .

Son is pumped for GEL Weekend. Applied to Santa Clara (and a bunch of others) too, and received a really nice award from Gonzaga and nothing from Santa Clara. Zip. Well, that helps make the decision.

Shrinkrap, did you get a vibe from the campus that there are things to do outside of the campus? Coming from SF with so much diversity and things to do, wonder if my twins will be “cabin fever” or feel Spokane is “too small town”? Of course it is understandable that a student needs to make the most of a school by getting involved.

Only have a minute ( I am in Portland now, visiting University of Portland), but it SNOWED in Spokane today!..not much though. It was cold but exciting ( the snowI mean).

Hi Frisco Mom,
We are from the bay area as well (Los Altos). What other schools are you considering for your girls? We loved the admitted students party for Gonzaga. Lots of great kids.

My girls have narrowed down their choices to Gonzaga, Santa Clara University and Syracuse University. We are heading to Gonzaga for the GEL weekend and I’m praying they love it. Syracuse is so far away and cold. Santa Clara a bit too close to home and I fear they will bring their laundry home. Ha! Also not sure they will choose to be together as one leaning towards Syracuse to have the east coast experience. The process has been interesting with twins!

Glad to hear you loved the admitted students party!

Son and I finally completed his Jesuit world tour – Loyola Chicago, Marquette, Creighton, Gonzaga and Santa Clara – and he told me yesterday, “Dad, I want to be a ZAG!” I couldn’t be prouder.

Congrats Shekki! I have twins and one will be attending Gonzaga University. I had a similar experience yesterday only my daughter said, “I want to be a bulldog”. Go GU!!!
