Accepted?!

Hey who's been accepted and what major?!

I've been accepted for a prospective major of Environmental Conservation Studies!!

Congrats! I got accepted too! Prospective major: English/Journalism

accepted for chemical engineering

accepted into Civil Engineering

Accepted into Biochemistry, Molecular, and Cellular Biology  < Yes, that is one major Lol.
Found out today in the mailbox and I applied regular decision.
I was really surprised on how early they sent the letters out! I expected late March/early April.

My D was accepted, got her letter on Fri (18th). She applied regular, too.

Got accepted to honors with some president scholar thing. Good thing, cuz unh is my financial safety. I literally got my letter 8 days after I applied lol

accepted (pre-med) but majoring biological sciences (:

accepted but into 2nd choice major of biology but i may change it

Accepted! Pretty quickly after I applied too.

OK, I have a few questions to ask. It looks like my D will be choosing between UNH and another school; pricewise for us they are almost identical. We are out of state.

We visited last year and we loved the campus and the friendliness of the students. Also, her sister lives nearby, which is a big plus for us.

I know most of the students at any state U will be from that state, and one of the bigger factors in their choice was the lower price to attend State U than to go elsewhere.

Lower cost aside, what are the things that made you want to attend UNH, and were your expectations met? What do the students there love about the school, and what do they wish the administration would do differently? Do you have any recommendations to someone thinking about going there?

Thanks for the input!

My D has been accepted as an OOS student and plans to go there to study Music Education. I have a close friend who lives in New Hampshire who knows several UNH students. She claims she has only heard very positive comments about the school from them. I am not surprised. We have visited the school three times and have always been very impressed with everyone that we dealt with.

accepted to the Whittemore School of Business and Economics with an economics major.

My daughter was accepted and it was her first choice. She was accepted into the Whittemore Business School, but with the $40K pricetag, no financial aid, and it being a state school, I think we’ll stick to our own state school - UMass. I loved UNH though… Whoever is going, enjoy it.

That is surprising that she didn’t get any financial aid because I am out of state and did not get very good grades but I ended up with $25000 in grants and scholarships, along with loans of course.

Hi AnnieSmith

I am assuming it’s due to my husband’s income. He earns well over 6 figures, and we have a 529 plan. We qualified for the loan, just no grants…no “free money”.

It’s tough…my daughter is instate and there is not that much help for her. It is only going to get worse, too. So many cuts in the state budget. It is a wonderful school, though.

My D was accepted to the department of music as a music ed major. This is the school she will attend in the fall. We are in state, and yes, money of course was a consideration, but it is a great school and the right choice for her!
