Accepted!

I guess maybe it’s just a fake news.

No news here… Still All Materials are in standard message. Applied Oct 4th 1st Biological Sciences 2nd CLA. 31 Act 3.5 GPA

I just had a conversation with someone at undergrad admissions and he said that the 24th thing was a rumor, so all decisions will be posted between today and the 31st for early action.

Thanks for that update, @MaddyP

Ten-thousand plus applicants; about 5000 admits. You can imagine the chaos on the dozens of admissions committees.

That said, its absurd they take so long. Get used to being treated like a #…

@rstdane1 only 5,000 admits? I find that hard to believe since they usually accept 44% of 49,000 some applicants annually. There’s no stats I could find on EA but I still think it must be well over 5,000 admits.

freshman class ~5-6 K students. Just talking HS seniors here.

5,880 freshmen last year.

There is a difference between “admitted” and “enrolled”. UMN’s yield is in the high 20’s IIRC.

SO they admit a lot more students than 5-6k because not all of them choose to attend…@JBStillFlying, if I understand correctly, yield means about 28-30% of those offered admission choose to attend. Is that right?

At this point, should the tracker change to one line first like previous admitted applicants said? Because mine is still the same since Nov 2017: all materials…

same old depressing msg - “All of your required application materials have been received by the November 1st deadline. Thank you! Admission decisions are sent on a rolling basis beginning in October. All students who submit complete applications by the November 1st deadline will receive their admission decisions on this website by January 31st.”

@MScarn per College Navigator for class of 2020, total applicants was 49,129, admit rate was 44% and the percentage admitted who enrolled was 27%. Haven’t seen the stats for class of 2021 but they aren’t going to be notably different. Admit and enroll rates will vary by college, of course.

@RP1010 yup, checked several times a day, even my google has started to offer suggestion when I just type the letter “a” to http://admissions.tc.umn.edu/tracker/

@Merapi42A - Google shows my #1 visited site since Nov

  I dont know if no jews is better than rejected but this waiting is horrible

@Merapi42A - I have not seen any rejection so far. Mostly acceptance and few deferrals. Have you seen any rejections?

My hope is going down by minute - I even paid $50 housing deposit

@Merapi42A It doesn’t change until your decision is about to be visible on the tracker, regardless of how early you submitted your app. Trust me, I know, I’ve been waiting since early october!

@RP1010 @jkirsy No, I didn’t see rejection yet therefore I am thinking maybe the long wait because they will announce altogether all yhe rejected and defferred ones. I PAID the housing deposit too!!!

wait… Why do you pay the housing if you don’t know you are accepted or not. Also, pay your housing means you will enroll for sure?
