There's a long weekend coming up in Feb. after swimming and before track starts. Maybe we could visit then. I need cheap airfare from Philadelphia/Baltimore/DC if anyone hears of anything.

Here is some information on visiting. We offer daily tours at 9am and 2 pm. If you are an accepted student, be sure to try to plan your trip during "Destination: Tulane". It will give you a great feel for the campus and all we have to offer. It runs every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday from Monday, April 2 all the way till Fri., April 27. We also have the program on Sat April 14 and Sat. April 21. (note- no program on Good Fri., April 6) Destination Tulane is runs pretty much all morning and lunch.

Sincerely,

Jeff in the Admission Office

Thanks for the info on visiting! Sounds like a nice program. I think we will try to get there a little earlier (Jan-Feb) as well as we can drive from Houston. It is tough to fit in with golf season heating up, but it only takes about a 6 hours drive. I would LOVE for my son to pick a college close to home. Most of his other choices are far.

Dear _____,

Happy holidays from the Tulane University Office of Undergraduate Admission!

As an admitted student, you can expect to receive detailed information regarding events, activities, and enrollment in mid-January.

Right now, you can visit our website for preliminary information:

Have a wonderful holiday season.

Tulane University

I got this and its the first thing I've heard. I guess I'm accepted? I just sent my ACT from the December test, so maybe that has something to do with it, since I self reported but didn't sent the official until now. It's weird that I got that email though.

Accepted with the 18k

Question.. Tulane posted my acceptance when I checked my status... that was about 2 weeks ago. How long does it take on average take to get an acceptance package?

ungst, I believe you are accepted. You may want to call the admissions office after the holiday break and ask.

CCR712, you also might want to call the admissions office. Or, just ask TulaneJeff here on the forum.

off topic And why does CC have flood control? It's annoying!

They couldn't be nicer or more helpful in Tulane's admissions office but they may be out for the Christmas holiday right now.

I thought Roger Dooley requested that we not pose questions/threads directly to admissions reps on the forums. He suggested that you ask your question in general form. I could be wrong but I thought I read that somewhere.

I just remembered my son got an acceptance letter - not a package. Admissions told me over the phone that a larger package will be sent in Feb or March. He didn't apply ED though so maybe those people got something bigger.

He got an email reminding him to get his deposit in by Jan 15 if he applied ED.

Yes, I got a letter as well. I think we can ask questions to admissions reps in a form similar to "If I still have not received my admissions letter from early action, what do I do?"

You can ask these questions of the admissions office here, where they respond to admitted students:

Hey everyone
We sent out the holiday e-mail a few days ago to accepted students. Some students that were accepted late last week will have gotten this e-mail before getting their official acceptance letter! Sorry about that confusion. Either way, youre in. You can check it officially at http://www.tulane.edu/%7Eadmiss/applicants/index.html by clicking check your application status. As far as the big packet, we are shifting more towards doing most things on-line this year. Accepted students will soon receive information about their personalized accepted student website, which will come out in January. Through the site, you will be able to get all the info on financial aid, orientation, housing options, registering for classes and submitting a commitment deposit, among other things. Dont forget, we dont require any form of commitment until April 1st, and our housing is guaranteed and is NOT done on a first come first served basis. So as far as the big packet, some stuff will certainly come soon in the mail, but we are doing a lot on-line this year.
If you applied Early Action and have not heard back yet, give us a call as soon as we re-open on January 2nd. I apologize if you have not heard yet, you certainly should have! You can always e-mail me at jschiffm@tulane.edu. Hope everyone has a Happy Holiday and a great New Year!
Jeff

So I used one of my free scores that come with the ACT because they told me that I wouldn't be accepted until they got the scores and I am anyways? Well maybe it could help me with more or a scholarship? I went from 30 to 32 and 27 to 34 on english. But I do have to spend probably $50 sending scores to other schools. Goody.

OK, I got that email that I posted in the thread earlier, and have not heard anything since, though I did get a big Tulane propaganda book. What gives?

lol I got accepted and got a scholarship with just sending my scores with my transcript. I haven't recieved a letter, but I called the Admissions Office and the guy told me they were having issues with their mail and that I was accepted and offered a 16K a year scholarship

K. Accepted. 32 ACT (33 Superscored), 3.93 GPA, Lots of ECs, 22K a year.

Tulane really superscores ?!?!????

Oh, accepted ages ago. Still no packet. What is the deal ?

I just got accepted as well + into honors (dont know if this is a big deal or not). No packet yet either

GPA:4.0 of 4.0
SAT:1470/2180
Bunch of EC's and leadership

Accepted today! I don't know if that's impressive or not...and Tulane is def. the most expensive school on my list so I'm waiting for others. Still, I'm excited b/c my stats weren't amazing and it's my first college acceptance! (Got accepted on my bday (today) btw).
