srvmccready, Is it possible that they felt you were using them as a safety school?

i have no idea. im just a little upset because now i think i have to send in midyear grades, and they're pretty bad right now.

the process is confusing. ive gotten a lot of merit money from some schools and deferrals from others of the same quality. Very strange.

i was actually going to consider bentley if they gave me substantial merit, but i guess thats not happening. btw, i even put in my essay that bentley was my #1 school, lol.

Can I suggest you schedule an interview? I did mine after sending in the application for EA and they were very welcoming. The interview is really more of a conversation, and if you make a good impression, and maybe explain how disappointed you were about their decision you can really make a difference for the RD. I could also suggest some question they asked me so you can be a bit prepared.

holachica, i greatly appreciate the idea but i'm not sure if i am interested in the school as much now that i have other options. also, being deferred probably means that i wont get merit even if i get accepted in march. ill take it for what it is. thanks again.

I got in EA, but there is no information about merit scholarship, does it mean that I have not received it or they will notify me later? (I’m international, if that makes any sense)

what are your stats DOLO2?

Very selective high school,
My school doesn’t weight

GPA- 3.0 (freshman year 1.5, so I made a great progress :) )
SAT-1190 (math, verbal)

Best recommendation, very good essay (I think so) tons of extracurricular.

So does anyone know the answer about merit scholarship?

I'm pretty sure they send you your scholarship with your acceptance, even with internationals. Bentley also takes the writing section of the SAT into account. Judging from the stats of those who got merit scholarships, I doubt you would get a merit scholarship with a 3.0, unless your SAT was super high.

To be sure, you could call/email admissions. That is probably the only way you'll get a definite answer.

I'd really like to be in their honors program, and I know its offered to the top 10% of the incoming class. Does that mean I can work really really hard for the rest of the school year, work my GPA up and maybe there's a chance for me to be in the top 10% or do they only look at the transcript given to them with the application?

Does anyone know when Bentley notifies you if you are eligible for the honors college?
