Accepted!!!

I live in Southern California and got my acceptance letter to Pomona today! And so did 2 of my friends! So get ready everyone they have been sent.

REJECTED.

and there's my first post at CC

Congrats Jackaroo! That's awesome!! Is Pomona your first choice?

I'm sorry zinynano, I've been rejected at three schools that I really wanted to go to, so I know what that's like. I just hope I'm not rejected at Pomona too; that would make this the worst spring break ever.

I don't want my decision............... lol

Damn rejected. This was my first choice school. I don't know what to feel right now, since I got into Stanford but not Pomona...Anybody know if we can transfer?

cowtipper, where do you live? You must have applied to some of the same schools as my son as I've seen you on other threads.

Pomona is his first choice so we're anxoiously awaiting the letter.

Yesterday was rough.

Good luck everyone.

I got waitlisted. I live in So. California, but I did get admitted to Swarthmore today.

Was the Pomona acceptance in regular mail or priority mail? Wondering how long it will take to get up the coast to WA state.

dadx3, mine was by priority mail. =)

Based on previous mail from Claremonts, I would say that others in Calif and Wash will get their letters on Sat.

cherisse, I'm from Chicago. Where are you from?

I applied to:
Pomona (pending... hopefully an acceptance)
USC (accepted... the only one so far that I want to go to:))
WashU (waitlisted... who wasn't?)
Northwestern (pending... find out tomorrow)
Rice (rejected... I actually laughed when I read the email.. I reallly didn't want to go. My parents made me apply.)
Brown (rejected... yeah... I'm depressed about that one)
Yale (rejected... I don't care... I was like w/e I'll apply.. lol)
Colorado State (accepted in October... safety)
Indiana University (accepted in October... safety)

So... yeah... I didn't do so well yesterday. :D Two rejections in a very short period of time. That was fun... lol.. So, I'm not looking forward to finding out about Pomona; I really want to go there now, after I visited on Monday!

Daughter was waitlisted, but received acceptances today from Tufts and Oberlin.

waitlisted by pomona
but glad that berkeley and ucla gave me regents scholarship

and wow acceptance rate for pomona is super low: 380/ 5900

accepted!!

that acceptance rate can't be true--it'd be even more selective than harvard!
6% seems kinda off...

I'm so flipping nervous right now, even after being accepted into my dream school (Tufts)
eeeeeeee

madame bovary

how many applicants were there for the class of 2011? 5900?

the class size is approximately 380 so more than 380 were admitted because not everyone admitted accepts [other than ed1 and ed2]

do you know how many Pomona admitted?

do they put priority mail in the mailbox or deliver it to your door?

No mail from Pomona in Chicago. Poo

I'm pretty sure Priority Mail goes in your mailbox.

Don't know exactly how many Pomona admitted. Swarthmore's numbers this year, which should be indicative since Swarthmore is approximately the same selectivity and size, were 890 admitted for a class of 365, out of 5244 applications. Since Pomona's class is a bit bigger, I expect their numbers to be a bit bigger as well.
