Call up the financial aid office and talk to them about it, they do amazing things to make it work for you.

Why I think I was accepted/denied: unsure, but it's good!

Are the rejection letters also sent by priority mail?

^^^I would assume not if it's just one piece of paper...

Last year, Pomona received 5,439 applicants.
They accepted 16% = 870
Class size is 378

Since they received even more applications this year ("over 5,900"), I'll bet their acceptance rate drops to 15% or below. At 15%, they'd be accepting 885 for a class roughly the same size as last year (letter said "380 places").

Pomona is smokin'!

Got a thin/non-priority mail envelope today in SoCal.

But waitlist is OK, I was accepted at Scripps last Monday and that was my first choice. So I won't accept a place on Pomona's waitlist. Gook luck to the rest of the people staying on the waitlist.

We seem to be the last to get the Pony Express here in VT. No word yet, but my son is so happy with his other acceptances, it doesn't matter. We'll plan our revisits the minute he hears from Pomona. But he'd be equally as happy with his other 5.

does anyone know about international students? i live in malaysia but i havent heard anything yet....

Acceptance letters for international students are getting FedEx'ed, I think, to make sure you get them in a reasonable time frame.

Congrats to everyone who's gotten in - I hope to see you at Pomona this coming month and next year! To all you others, from someone who got rejected by three colleges and waitlisted by two, trust me - it's not the end of the world. You're going to end up someplace where you're happy, and in the slim chance that you don't, transferring after a year or two IS an option. Regardless, try to enjoy the rest of your senior year - it goes by fast!

Rejected. Thin letter regular mail yesterday. Pomona wasn't even on my radar (parents had me apply) so no worries! Got Scripps like Traveleurope!

Accepted from Kentucky!

Does anyone know if Pomona will provide travel vouchers for 'The Weekend'? I know Scripps does for their Accepted Students Weekend, but I haven't heard anything about Pomona.

That makes at least two Kentuckians!

I could be wrong, but I don't think Scripps provides travel vouchers to their accepted students day (April 13th, with overnight on the 12th). I know they do in Feb for a weekend for the finalists for their JES scholarship. If they do, it might be on a case-by-case basis depending on the student's financial situation.

ACCEPTED! oh yeah

I got waitlisted at Williams, which was my top choice, so i'm still not sure where im going to go. Pomona is an awesome school though and there's a definite possibility that i'll be there in the fall.

Thanks kcpdmp. My friend who received a Scripps voucher for Accepted Students Weekend also participated in the JES weekend, so it might just be something offered to JES scholars. Hopefully I can bargain it out of them though, because I'm certainly going to need all the financial help I can get!

Woot I got accepted. Man I love Pomona, but I just can't say no to Stanford, Duke, Dartmouth, and Cal. Have fun next year you guys.

Congratulations to all accepted!
My son received a priority mail package from Pomona, but we're away from home for another week and can't get any of the details! He'd like to attend the Admitted Students Weekend (on April 13-16?) and arrange for travel, but can someone tell me if there's info yet about the schedule so we can figure out what time he should arrive (Friday?) and depart (Sunday?)? Haven't found anything on the website.
Or maybe someone can PM me? I'm a CC newbie, so any help would be much appreciated!

Accepted from MA! Yay! And I didn't write the optional essay, which CC people were freaking out over. ^__^

Hi NYCitymom - tried to pm but couldn't.
You should probably call the admissions office and ask about the schedule.
The phone # is on the website.
Last year, there was a password in the acceptance packet that enabled you to link to the info on the website. I don't know what they are doing this year, but you certainly can call and ask. And congratulations to your son!
