My daughter got accepted yesterday (into the graphic design program). She's also interested in advertising photography.

As for stats, Honors classes all 4 yrs and a couple APs. 4 years of Spanish (honors) and honors math through Calculus.

SATs - 1200 (not quite sure of breakdown but math was higher - was sick so didn't take senior yr). Top 10% of class. GPA is 94 or so (not sure what that is on 4.0 scale). Lots of ECs including HS sports, 9 yrs of dance, clubs, and volunteering. Typical honors like NHS, Spanish NHS, GT program, etc.

Survived the portfolio review (did it in person).

We visited this school several times. Everyone we came in contact far exceeded our expectations. The art and design people were quite helpful and welcoming. I hope financial aid comes through and makes this a possibility.

I was accepted to RIT too!... Actually I'm a 2nd year (3rd year status) Electrical Engineering student, but I just thought I'd drop a line offering to answer any questions any of you might have about RIT. E-mail and AIM work best.

i heard that the campus was kinda boring...hows the partying and hows the guy:girl ratio lol.

Well... the campus is... unique, I'd say. Most of the buildings are composed mainly of brick, which is unlike most college campuses. There are always activities going on though. The ones who complain about being bored are the ones who sit in their rooms all day in front of their computers. Parties are periodic... there's either one here, U of R, or another nearby college just about every weekend. Lately there have been concerts and guest speakers every quarter (Kanye West, Bob Dylan, Ludacris next month). I really don't find it that boring at all.

Now, I know you've heard about the male-female ratio. It isn't the best for us engineers, but the college of art is only a few steps away. lol. Hope that helped.

Hey guys, just got accepted today, software engineering. I have a 3.6 ish UW GPA with like a 3.85 W and i am taking Calc and physics at UNR right by me. If things dont work out with the naval academy (good chance they wont) ill be seeing you guys this fall. Congratz and good luck to everyone.

i got accepted as well, in the Graphic Media program. see you all in the fall, and best of luck!

I got accepted a while ago, but figured that I might as well post

SAT 630 Verbal, 670 Math
SAT2 630 Writing, 670 Math2c, 630 Chemistry
GPA 3.6

The odd thing though is that I never finished or sent in the full application, but they accepted me anyways, not that I mind, looks like a cool school

I dont know, I got accepted and all , I want to go to a school where I can also have a social life. I mean I know RIT isnt a party school , but I don't want to be in a place with a bunch of Dare I say ...dorks.

Congrats all. Anyone get into the honors program?

If you have questions or anything, let me know.

I got into the honors program, but don't intend to attend.
