Accepted

I am going for sure, although not the honors program

I will be going, too. RIT was shocking to me, everyone was very friendly, the campus seems active, and the academics and facilities are awesome.

Here are some stats:
3.9 something GPA
All honors classes till senior year, then all AP classes (yikes, melt my brain), 5 years of Spanish - going to be my minor, two years of computer science - my major.

AP tests:
Computer Science A: 5 (They MAY NOT accept any score on the A test, but my class decided to take A instead of C... I have asked if I can submit a programming portfolio along with my test score to get some credit)
Spanish Language: 4
And I'm on deck this year for Physics C, Calc BC, Eng Lang, and Stats.

SAT:
Math: 710 first time 740 second time
Verbal: 670 first time 710 second time

ACT: 30 (hate the test, kills the brain)

Not many EC's because I run a business, just robot club, freshman mentoring, and NHS. Received $9000 presidential scholarship from RIT and $1000 for honors program. Hoping to get into the Computer Science dorm (but I think there are only 15 spots!)

Is anyone else thinking of a minor in Spanish?

Good luck to all,
Ian

Ian,
My d is taking Spanish 4 (Honors) and would like to continue with Spanish at RIT but not sure if that's possible while getting a BFA in Graphic Design. She'd also like to minor in Advertising Photography if that's possible. I'll try to get her on here one of these days, but right now she's writing two Spanish compositions and then has another Spanish assignment. After that, she has a Persian Lit essay to write. Just another Sunday night. She's been doing homework since 8:30 this morning.

Wat were your numbers that you got in with?

What were youre scores that you got in with?

I got accepted to the applied math program but I don't intend to go as I got in at my first choice to today. And to the peoiple who wonder about scholarships... I got my offer with my acceptance letter. (International). Good luck and congrats to everybody :). My friend might be joining you next year!

Andralacrosse, You will find "dorks" at any and all schools. However, that said, RIT is a tough technical school that requires hard work. If your primary goal is to "party," you won't like RIT.

However, if you are willing to work hard to master your major, and use your time efficiently, you will have time for fun and will find things to do and people to do it with. Frankly, you have 16,000 to 18,000 students. There HAS to be some kids that will be likeminded as you.

some ppl think they are too cool sometimes...

My daughter just got into New Media Design program.

SATs: 1850
GPA: 3.48 unweighted, 3.98 weighted
Solid portfolio
Lots of ECs

Congratulations to everyone that is getting accepted, hopefully RIT turns out to be the school for you like it is for me.

To add on to taxguy's comments, he is spot on with the school being fairly tough, but so long as you recognize the speed at which things move, you can easily excel. Also, there are definitely more than enough people to find friends easily. I have made friends in nearly every class.
