Accepted

I just got my acceptance letter today to the College of Liberal Arts.

Stats:
ACT: 33
GPA (UW): 3.67
Class Rank: 13%
Rigorous Course load
Dad is alum

Also applying SHC hoping to get in.

I didn't send out my app until 3 weeks ago, that was quick.

Congrats. I think I'll send my app in tomorrow. A bit later than optimal, but a pretty sure bet. PSU is my 2nd choice, under Lehigh.

Congratulations on your acceptance!!

Did you hear via e-mail or regular mail? Son applied 3rd week of September and still no word. With your very high ACT, I'm thinking maybe they're sending them out first to all you really bright kids? Oh well, just have to keep waiting.

To the second poster . . . why would you spend 4 years in Bethlehem rather than State College? Just curious.

Probably the size of the school. My DD got into PSU, Lehigh, Michigan and Villanova and chose Villanova. She, too, loved Lehigh, but hated the surrounding area. But, Penn State and Michigan were just too big for her. Could be any number of reasons.

Yes, the difference in size between a Penn State and a Lehigh is disparate. I think the same as your daughter -- really thought Lehigh, itself, was beautiful (save for walking up the hill - yikes!), but the town was just too depressing.

Anyway, sure she's enjoying Villanova -- I really thought that was a nice school -- homogenous, but nice -- with quick access into Philadelphia.

Well, we await arrival, either via e-mail or snail mail, of PSU's decision.

Good luck to all!

Meh. I've visited both lehigh and psu. PSU is like living in a city, while lehigh is like living near a city. I prefer the latter. Also, I live less than 30 minutes away from Lehigh now, and drove past it every day during the summer to go to work. So, I'm kinda familiar with the area.

Is Penn State late this year?? In past years the first acceptance round was already out....Good luck to you....PSU is a great school.

I read a couple of weeks ago that there were roughly 19,000 applications submitted at that point ! So I suppose they have alot to review.... my son is checking the mailbox everyday...

mine was posted online first i think. i check on day around lunch time and it said accepted and when i got home the big envelope was in my mailbox
