I don’t understand why people are freaking out so much . . . maybe if it was their first decision . . . but otherwise I don’t see it :

It would be nice if they could let the bottom feeders (like my D) know so the wait could be over. I mean, there is no way she got in, so just end the pain already…!

Way to support your daughter.

seriously!

^^wow!

That’s the attitude!

Hey, I kind of know how ^Johanakat feels… my son isn’t a bottom feeder but it sure feels like it given the rejections that have come through (Stanford, Caltech, UCLA all no’s, UCSD waitlisted, in a UCI honors)… I’m hoping that USC and Cal break the trend. I wish they’d let everyone know already so we can just on with things and move to the next step. (2140 SAT, 790 SATII in Math, 760 SATII in Chem, 9 AP classes taken (by the end of his senior year out of 10 offered by his HS) with 4/5 in each of the tests, tennis for 4 years plus a fair (not crazy) amount of volunteering and a part time job.)

^^ Calrules, I am sorry to hear that. It’s such a darn shame too, the amount of stuff a high school student has to do to get into some of these schools. I’m blown away reading other people’s posts. But keep your chin up!!! My philosophy is, you can find dumb people at Harvard, and brilliant people at Idaho State (or a similar school). Where you go to school will not make you or break you. If you work hard and are determined, you will ultimately get what you want in life-- I believe in this 100%.

Yes. I do belive that. I work with people with master degree or Phd and I know a lot of people with Phd degree in my company. Phd degree or a degree from good school doesn’t guarantee you will make more money than those people with BS degree from State college. Also, interesting to see SAT 2140 is still waitlisted at UCSD. My 2nd D. with ACT 32 got into UCSD engineering program, but was rejected by UCLA while my older D. got into UCLA, CAL, and UCSD last year with same ACT score and gpa. My older D. was ranked #1 and my 2nd D. is ranked #2. My older D. was waitlisted at U. Penn last year and rejected by Stanford and Harvard. That is why my 2nd D. only applied to 4 UCs.

■■■■■, ahahah, wowwww. i’m glad i’m not your bottom-feeder of a daughter.

I got into Davis with a 3.042.

So why not keep my fingers crossed for Cal?

I didn’t get into LA but I guess hoping for Berkeley (Though I would rather go to LA)

@SageMIomo
I would gladly trade places with you if you get in :P

Ahhh! Good luck everybody!!!

Good luck everybody :D. Weird how originally all the top tier UCs I didnt stress about, since my stats are not good to them (especially UCLA), but after getting in UCSD, I’m getting a little stressed
about Cal :).

Wow. Tomorrow. Getting pretty nervous over here.

Good luck everyone. I’m prepared for my rejection.

^same…
