Ah I feel so left out of everything

Congratulations to all of you though! Hopefully many of us are going to be getting good news soon too lol

Now I sprint for the phone every time it rings.

And then I get disappointed every time.

Well at least I’m burning calories. =///

My son just got a call. He wasn’t home. I asked the lady if she wants to leave a message. She said yes, she wants to congratulate my son for being accepted to UCSD and being selected Regents Scholar. She said she will try to call back in a couple days and he should get something in the mail soon.

If I didn’t see this thread with all the calls, I would be skeptical if she is legit.

Congrats! What were the stats of your son the Regents scholar?

For those who got an acceptance call from UCSD, did your status change on MyApplication?

Are they calling Southern California first? Is it in any particular order?

No, I know someone in NorCal who got a call. I don’t think her stats were stellar, so I’m thinking that some of this calling process could be a bit random.

@BusyMei: Did they call you after 8:30p? Just curious if they’d call late in the evening too?

But yea, I doubt they’d call EVERYONE that got accepted - wouldn’t that be a lot of calls? But congrats to all that received “the call.” How exciting! :)

Yes, minutes before I posted. My post time stamp is 8:58pm. I was excited but skiptical.

So what do I do? Get on CC UCSD forum for answers. Sure enough, saw posts with others getting calls also.

Thank you BusyMei! I am a mom too, I’m on CC because I drive my son nuts whenever I try and talk about college admissions.

I was wrong - found out from Ms. Sun (■■■■■■■■■■■■), that UCSD is in fact trying to call ALL admitted freshmen. She said, “Yup, they are TRYING to call ALL admitted freshman. Whether they will succeed is a different story.”

Btw, how do quote someone here (with the quote box)?

Do you guys think they’ll call on weekends too? Or just “business days”

same question as hisbeloved…how do you use these darn quotes?

I don’t have a caller ID voicemail because my house phone is super old. I did get a call Tuesday at 3:19 PM but they didn’t leave a message. I also wasn’t able to check the phone number because the voicemail box doesn’t save numbers.

Do they call again? Or should I call them? I would look to know ASAP! :)

I’m wondering if it’s done by area/region too.

I’m in Minnesota and have yet to get the call, though I 'm relatively sure it’s coming (I’ve been accepted to UCLA, Notre Dame, etc.).

Are any of you that are getting calls majoring in Engineering?

ive been hearing rumors that UCSD and UCD are supposed to be out march 15 <.<

lol the 15th is when they’re posted, but UCSD’s “trying” to call its accepted students before that for some reason

Probably because SD set to release decisions 3/15 but they found out UCLA beat them to it so they decided to call people up.

(Just got a call from student at UCSD. Confirmed that 3/15 is the release date.)

oh lol ok my friend wasnt lieing. UCD is still a mystery :(

If any of you get calls from this point on can you ask if they’re calling through the weekend as well? :(
