Accepted!!

arbydan…We’ve been to the Application Tracker page to check her status and have seen it change from “all materials received” to “reviewing your application carefully” and finally to congratulating her or being accepted to CBS. We were just wondering since several posters had mentioned seeing Honors status listed somewhere on the App Tracker page. Not sure if the status will update eventually for all Honors invitees or just a select few. Don’t know if IS or OOS matters or if it’s by particular college? I’d hope her stats are good enough for an invite, but in any case we’re thrilled she’s been accepted!!!

BryDee, you said you were admitted to the College of LAS. I don’t know what that is. Did you mean CLA for College of Liberal Arts?

sindarlord - which college did you get accepted into?

My honors info was in another yellow box directly under where it said I was admitted. FYI I’m OOS and applied to engineering. Im guessing they gave the honors notification to those of us with stats that put us in easily. I’m sure more honors acceptances come later, so don’t be upset if yours doesnt say you’re accepted to honors yet.

mk13…Thanks much, I was just wondering how it was displayed. I’m assuming D1’s stats are solid enough to get into Honors (3.99UW,4.15W, ACT 36, SAT 2400) so we’ll keep watching for notification on Application Tracker. If nothing there, we’ll hope for a letter in the mail. Thanks again for the info!!

Oh yea those stats are even better than mine. She will be in for sure. I guess it could have to do with what college she’s applying to. Best of luck to you and her!

^^^^Yes, that was a mistake on my part. Lol. Getting my colleges all mixed up!

My Honors notification was right under the box that told me that I had been accepted. My acceptance letter didn’t even mention it.

Kajon,

I was accepted to the College of Liberal Arts (and Honors Program), planning for Political Science/International Studies.

I’m from Wisconsin.

And with those scores (holy!) she definitely will get in. In fact, she probably has a great chance at an Ivy.

mk13 and sindarlord…Thank you for the kind words and well wishes. Hopefully D1 will hear something official before the '11-'12 housing app is available since I think she’s leaning towards Honors housing as a preference. Merit scholarships will be the biggest hurdle to clear, but we’ll jump off that bridge when we come to it. Not sure where else you all are considering, but best of luck to you wherever you choose to attend. Thanks and God Bless!!

Wolverine86,
This is what I have on my tracker “Congratulations on your admission to the University of Minnesota College of Biological Sciences! Your official admission packet has been mailed to you. We are so pleased to offer you admission and look forward to welcoming you to campus. To confirm your enrollment now, go to [University of Minnesota-Twin Cities](http://www.uofminn.org/confirm). .” No Honors information…

Arbydan…Congrats on your acceptanced to CBS!! I think the Honors invitations are handled differently by the various colleges, as some folks saw notification online but D1’s invite came through snail mail several days after her acceptance. She got a great scholarship offer in the mail yesterday, so things are looking very good for her to head to the Twin Cities next fall!!

just got accepted to the U of M, BioScience! I am so thrilled right now! My first and the only acceptance :). It took 8 days for them to make the decision.

^ Congrats elnhat!!

Does anybody know when the '11-'12 housing application will be available? Or have you been able to use it already? My daughter is able to access it, but when she tries to select the correct application period, the only option that shows up is spring 2011.

@Wolverine86: thanks a lot ^^!

@HoComom: I only saw the spring 2011 option too. I think you should wait a little bit until the UMN-TC puts the Fall 2011 option in.

Good luck to those who are still waiting. Hope to see you all next year!

UMNTC is my top choice!!! my app was complete nov 15th, still haven’t heard…getting antsy. i applied to CBS and minn is my last school!!

Good luck!

Anybody in engineering hear about honors yet? It’s killing my D to wait–was accepted into CSE in October, but hasn’t heard about honors or scholarships yet. She’s hopeful–34 ACT, 3.9 GPA, all AP classes, National Merit commended…etc. Patience, I guess!

^ Yes. My honors admissions letter was dated November 9th. I think they might expedite the process for NMSFs though, so your daughter is probably fine.

So is everyone here actually going to the U?

^ I don’t know. On paper, Minnesota is my top choice, but I haven’t actually seen it yet. I really liked Northeastern when I visited, so that’s probably the biggest competition - depending on what they offer me tomorrow, that is. UNL is sitting in third, also unvisited.
