My App Tracker Message changed from the message saying something like “You have all you’re materials in before the deadline…” to “Your complete application was received on October 19, 2010. All students who submit complete applications by the December 15 priority deadline will receive their decisions by the end of February.”

It seems like they just added the date when my application was completed to the message and changed the wording a bit. Does anyone know what this subtle change means? Admit decision coming soon? Deferment?

I’m thinking they probably changed everyone’s to that because it’s now passed the December 15th deadline. I think they’re just reassuring you that your application was received by the deadline.

Ohhh, yeah you’re probably right. But in all seriousness, application received September 24th and file completed October 16th…when do you think I’ll hear back?

application recieved September 19, file completed Novermber 24th. People on here have gotten a decision in as short as 8 days and as long as 8 weeks (some guy finished everything in august/september, didnt hear back until earlier this month)…im super worried. UMN is numero uno for me, and its been 23 days since they’ve recieved everything…it would be a great christmas present to get in/

@IBkid2011: don’t worry too much, I think you’ll be fine. It took me 3 months to wait and a week for a decision after my app status changed to “very carefully considered.” Just have faith in yourself and you’ll get in.

They sent me their congratulation letter when Minnesota was having a worst snowstorm in 20 years. Then why not they send you one at Christmas? Good luck to you!

@elnhat; thanks for the vote of confidence! but this is where im worried. you heard back 8 days after your status changed to being underreview; its been 23 days since my status made that change. its sad. lol

@Noimagination:
Well, I go to the U. I’ve been going there for 1.5 years now, so if there’s any questions, feel free to ask. (I’m a CC kid, so I’m not going to try to sell you the U, just…clarify things. : ) )

(to previous posters about honors notification)

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! I checked online and saw my acceptance like a month ago then never checked again because I thought honors notifications came out in march. just checked now and i got into honors :)

also does anyone know how scholarships work? I applied for both university-wide and college of liberal arts scholarships. I got a letter in the mail saying i received the gold national scholarship, but does this mean that’s the only scholarship i’m getting? like could i be up for any more university-wide scholarships and just be notified later? i’m OOS, so i’d need more money to make it cheaper than my in-state school. any feedback is helpful.

goldtortoise…Congrats on your Honors invite, and on your scholarship!! My understanding is that your initial letter is for whatever University-wide scholarships you’ll be offered, and any college specific scholarships would come at a later date that varies from college to college. Not sure if the college specific offers come after students have confirmed they’ll be attending or how exactly that works. D1 got her university-wide scholarship offer a few weeks ago but hasn’t heard anything from her particular college (CBS) yet.

My app status doesn’t show any honors invitation. I think it’s probably because I am not good enough (my ACT score is not 33-34 like some of you have got here ) and I am an international student. Anyways, getting accepted to U of M, CBS makes me happy enough.

By the way, I haven’t received my packet yet. It has been for a week. How long did it take for you guys to receive the packet?

Does anyone’s application tracker not let them log in? As soon as I log in, it takes me to an Error report - “HTTP Status 500 -”.
At first I thought it was my laptop, but I signed in on our desktop and my dad’s computer and it still came up…is this happening to anyone else?

Bharglee…As of this morning D1’s application tracker was unavailable as well but she hadn’t tried logging in for a few days. If if persists, try calling the helpline number at (612) 301-4357

conn0563…Congrats!! Hope you enjoy U of Minn.

my application tracker updated on dec 21 to “your application is being carefully considered” however the office of admissions closes on dec 24-jan 2 so does this mean i won’t receive a decision in the mail until after January 2nd? Or will they send out a decision before they shut down, because i have read earlier on in this thread people’s app statuses were updated and within 6-7 days they received their decision in the mail.
