Acceptees for Class of 2010

If you read up, you'll see I said i'm a minority (indian parents) and in the email they sent me they invited me to the cultural meeting at trinity. My guess is this email was prob only sent out monday to the multicultural acceptances. I don't know if i'm gonna that interested in Trinity right now cause I also got into a schools I have a higher pref for. (Colby, Carnegie Mellon etc.)

Am an international who got waitlisted...

Waitaminit, are all internationals getting waitlisted?

For those of you who've already gotten accepted. How is your financial aid package? Is it any good or lackluster?

jeanatkin, did you ask for aid?

Um, yes, lots of it.. don't tell me that's the reason again for my waitlisting...

Please?

I was asking for lots of aid too, so it's one thing we have in common.
Who knows...I was pretty sure i'd get into Trinity :s
How were your stats?

I thought I'd get into Trinity too... just goes to show how random the process is... :( sigh depressed

I HOPED I had good SAT scores - 2350 (800CR, 800MA, 750WR, 11E), but I don't have fancy enough ECs, or fancy enough Essays. I just hope the recommendations were good.

Ah well, I got this far... numb, are you going to accept their waitlist offer?

Dude your scores are AMAZING! I'm really surprised how random the whole admission process is.
To date, I have one acceptance, three rejections, and two waitlists, i wasn't expecting this at all.
I think i might accept the waitlist, but it's not mandatory for me to go if i get admitted, right?

No, it's not mandatory, though I suggest you take it.. 'coz there's not knowing what lies ahead...

I wasn't expecting my results at all either: 9 rejections, 2 possible rejections (haven't got a packet or anything since their results were announced), 2 waitlists, and 10 colleges - all of which are reaches but one...

My amazing scores, apparently, suck.

At least you got accepted somewhere. Where?

I know of people with lesser SAT scores getting into really good colleges, why? Because they could finance themselves :s
Got into Mount Holyoke (thank God for small favours), and the aid isn't bad too, so I guess i'm headed there...nowhere else to go :(. Which colleges do you have left?

10 left.. and I'm hoping for at least one...

:(:( Well, good luck at Mount Holyoke...

And, yeah, I have a friend who got into colleges because she could pay (she got into UTA)... and her SAT scores? 1800+

Where else are you waiting to hear from?

Thanks, i have Bates, Wesleyan, Connecticut College and Cornell left.
I don't see ANY hope.
Good luck to you too, and do tell me where you get in :D.

Sure.. IF I get in... Honestly, I'm tired...

Wesleyan rejected me early in the process.. I signed up for the Freeman Asian Scholarship scheme, and was not selected as a finalist... Not trying to scare you or anything, though...

Something will come up, though... ne vous inqui

I'm from Pakistan, i had a 2090 in my SAT I (dude i look like a ditzy blonde compared to you :p) Plus I had 790 Math IIC, and 700 World History.
We follow the GCSE thingy, had all A's in it, transcripts were almost all A's too.
Yeah it's ok i don't have any hope for Wesleyan too.
And i won't copy and paste your message but maybe rephrase it to sound more trite, cheer up...i'm sure you're in for a big college surprise :D.

Yeah, I'm hoping so too... thanks :) Best of Luck for this weekend... God Bless!

jeanatkin, i'm really surprised trin didn't take u right away! overqualified perhaps? but trin is no safety to be waitlistin overqualified students!!
well good luck with the rest of the colleges in ur list!

I can't be overqualified if they waitlisted me... Sigh It was my silly lack of good enough ECs (I mean, what, school magazine editor), and lack of good enough SAs...

Stupid, stupid, stupid...

Jeenatkin......dont worry.......u wud get in gud college. i agree SAT scores r not everythin........at least i think it for Trinity College. I got very poor SAT I scores and still got accepted from the college. And all the ppl who got waitlisted due to financial aid........we all acceptees(ED) got gud aid.........according to them. we r all payin less than 10k to the college. and if u r all thinkin to recosnider ur family contribution. remmber one thing all international students r expected to pay 5k as a loan every year. no way u can exclude that. okay think before u do anythin

Thanx aaron56 for updating this thread.
