Accepting Enrollment and Orientation

Hi again I know I’m pretty late on accepting my admission into UT but now that I know I am going to UT when I try to pay me enrollment deposit on the What I Owe page It says “NO PAYMENT OPTIONS AVAILABLE,” and I don’t know if this is an error of some sort or an issue on my part. I need to pay this enrollment so I can sign up for an orientation date, which I heard is absolutely horrible if you sign up on on the later dates. Is this true and if so how much does it affect what classes I can sign up for?

Is there any chance you got a waiver for the enrollment deposit? Have you tried signing up for orientation to see if it routes you back to the enrollment?

In MyStatus, you have accepted your enrollment first, right? Then you should go to “what I owe.”

They reserve slots in certain classes for later orientation sessions, and if you get a later orientation session, you’ll get to register before the people in the earlier ones in the Spring, so don’t worry about not being able to get your classes. This will probably be a problem at some point in your higher education due to the sheer number of people at the university, but there are waitlists and such.

That does sound like a weird problem, though. Hope you get it figured out!

Okay so I logged in today and it seems like the issue has resolved itself so now I have paid my enrollment to UT but I still have a question about orientation. On the registration page it asks to choose a language placement test, but what is this used for and do I have to take it? I read about the UT Math Assessment but I still have no clue on how it actually works. If someone could explain this process I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I can’t explain the process but we had the same Language Placement Test offered on that page, as well as many others who noted it on other threads. Like them, we declined it as our son won’t be taking languages in college. My assumption was that this option was for those who were taking a Language at UT and wanted to take the assessment test for placing/credit. My understanding of the Math Assessment is that everyone or everyone who has math in their curriculum, will or can take this test for the same reason of placement or to assure credit for classes taken in high school.

@BillyLu I see on another thread that you are Architectural Engineering. Here is the current degree plan:

There is no foreign language requirement assuming you have had two years in high school. The electives in that degree plan are all technical so taking a language class would not be helpful in that way. It doesn’t sound like you need to take the language placement test.
