If I wait until April to accept my offer, will I be put in a bad dorm?

Most likely you will be placed in supplemental housing.

supplemental?

I’d accept your contract as soon as you can so you can be at the top of the list for a dorm room verses supplemental.

yikes…totally don’t want that.

I’ll accept asap, I’m just waiting until i hear another offer in February…

Not sure how anyone gets assigned to supplemental housing. One of my kid’s classmates returned her acceptance in January a few years ago, and still ended up in supplemental housing. She ended up making friends for life with her room-mates so it had a happy ending.

I already submitted my housing contract but it can still be edited I think so I’m not even sure if it’s set in stone, yet.

Yeah you are good Loba, as long as you have it submitted then you are ahead of the game. You’ll have till April’ish to edit your preferences, in-case you want to add a roommate, etc etc.

Seems waiting till Apr is too late for good room?

ohh ok that makes sense
thanks cwryan1

Alright…what if I wait until February?

I do not know about Penn State… sort of ironic, since this is where I went to grad school… BUT at most schools you an get your deposit back up until May 1st.

I would most definately ask Penn State directly, but if you can get your deposit back, there is no harm in making the deposit and sending in the housing paperwork to secure a spot.
