My twin and I are interested in one of the same schools, will they accept one of us and not the other or accept/decline both of us
It depends on the school and on the students. Are you two similar? Do you have similar credentials? Some schools may consider your twinning but others will evaluate you independently.
You will be looked at individually. You can both get in, both get rejected, or one can get in and one can be rejected. If you want to go to the same school and your credentials are different, you need to look to schools that are a match for the person with lower stats.
I know of a pair of twins who applied and got accepted to, and enrolled in, the same top-tier flagship state university, so it is at the very least certainly not always the case that good schools will only accept one twin.
I know twins that both got accepted into and atend the same prestigious college
Many schools ask on the Common App if anyone in your family is applying for the same year - presumably to identify twin/triplet sets…
FYI, Yale accepted a set of quadruplets back in 2010!

Hi,
One of the college counselors at my school told me (I’m a triplet) to write it all over my college applications, as many colleges will see that and go out of their way to admit all three of us (for you, both you and your twin). They also are more willing to give you more financial aid if you specify that both of you are applying for college now.
Good luck with your college apps!!!
