I know there is no quota for how many kids can get accepted from one school, but here’s the situation:
My friend and I are both applying RD, and we both have a 4.0 GPA and a 34 ACT superscore. Will Tufts likely only admit one of us since we attend the same school? I know they say they look at each applicant individually, but they tend to not admit too many people from the same school.
No worries. My son was accepted with 5 others from his class year. He was also accepted to WUSTL with 5 other classmates, to ucla with 3 others, etc. All these schools will take multiple applicants from a single school if the candidates are worthy.
Last year Tufts excepted 12 kids from my school (my school has about 1200 students so each grade has around 300). I would not worry too much about it. Good luck!
I wouldnt say that necessarily, in my year 10 people applied to Tufts and 4 got in which is double the acceptance rate of the class of 2018, so I think that they are pretty true to the statement that they dont compare two students from the same high school directly
It is a common misbelief that top schools limit acceptees from each high school. But denied students like to use that as a face saving reason for being denied.
