As of now, I'm waiting for USC's decision, unfortunately admission doesn't come out till June. I have to make my decision for UCSD before June 1st. I want to know if there's any penalties (besides the deposit fee) for accepting SD's offer and rejecting later if i get into USC. Would it be wise to just accept SD or gamble and see if i get into USC.

No, you’ll just lose your deposit. Do you have somewhere else you’ll be happy to go if USC doesn’t come through? If not, gambling would not be a smart move.

Accept your best available option before the deadline. Don’t gamble. If you are later accepted to USC, you will lose your deposit if you then choose not to attend UCSD. You only other option would be to request an extension from UCSD. If they grant one (I have no idea if they are likely to do so) be sure to get it in writing and have name and contact information for the person who grants the extension. Good luck!
