I can't seem to get the 29% discount on my Dell Latitude D610. Even after going onto the special Dell-Columbia site, my shopping cart only reflects the normal 12% off discount.

"Columbia's discounts are up to 29% off Dell's full retail price, depending upon the category of the item under the agreement. The highest discount level applies to the following types of equipment: Optiplex (non-Celeron processor) personal computers, Workstations, Latitude laptops, PowerEdge products (Excluding PowerEdge SC), PowerVault, and PowerApps."

I have the same problem!

call dell, that is what the site says

What's the difference between "Institutional Purchase" and "Personal Purchase" because the Institutional Purchase page gives me a different set of discounts.

Call Dell? It sounds hard to customize over the phone.

i can't believe Columbia doesn't offer discounts on IBMs. argh.

I just sent the office an e-mail. Hopefully I'll get a reply soon.

Institutional purchase: Someone/ a group affiliated with CU (ie The Biology Dept.) buys for the university, usually in bulk.

Personal: Student (maybe faculty also) buys for personal use, and there is a limit on the discount (eg one laptop with a discount per year, one printer...)
