Accidentally checked igetc certified on UC application

So when I was filling out the application, there was a tab for igetc certified, I check it not know whether I would be able to get certified or not. It wasn’t until recently that I realized that I was wrong in doing this. I got accepted to UCSC and now I’m afraid they might rescind by admission. I emailed them about this last night telling them that I had made a mistake on the application. Is this ok? I’m I ok? This is stressing me out, can someone please help?

When you say “wrong in doing this” are you saying you have satisfied IGETC requirements but have not certified? Or did not fulfill IGETC requirements? There’s a difference. If you fulfilled the requirements for IGETC, you just need to schedule a meeting with a counselor at your CC to get certified, in which case UC’s should be fine. If you have not fulfilled IGETC requirements (and therefore can not certify), you need to email UC’s your mistake ASAP and beg for your life.

I have not fulfilled the igetc requirements. I need to take 2 more classes which I’m taking during the summer semester at my cc, but I will not be able to complete the certification by the time i need to send in the transcripts. I guess I’ll be on my knees for a while begging.

Yeah, just start the emailing process now. Be sure to note that you will be certified at the end of the Summer session, that might buy you a little leniency.

Also, many of us are not certified until the end of this Spring, so you’d only be off by one short semester.

Thank you man, I will get on that asap. Say hi to Saul for me, can’t wait for season 2!

Let them know you will have Partial IGETC certification to send in by the July 15 deadline, with revised full certification after summer session. Get your advisor and admissions to send out the Partial by July 15. It’s a separate request from transcripts.
